  • BEWARE THE 2nd KEY CON

    1 out of 5 starsby Blake K on 08/06/2022

Purchased a used car from Grapevine Ford and all went well until after the purchase price was agreed to. When the paperwork arrived I was surprised to see $1k+ in additional fees for LoJack and a replacement 2nd key. LoJack is what it is so I could only negotiate the cost down as it was already installed, a fact not divulged during the original negotiations. I questioned the lack of the 2nd key and was told they only received one when the car was traded in, so I agreed to pay for a new one to be made. After getting the car home I located an old service receipt including the original owner’s info. Upon contacting that person about potentially obtaining the missing 2nd key, they confirmed to whom both keys were given in great detail. Dealership maintains they received only one key. I ask you, does the former owner have anything to gain by lying about the key? At the very least dealer personnel lost the 2nd key and I’m left paying for their mistake. More likely this is a con job to sell highly profitable extras to increase the overall profit margin on used vehicle sales. I won’t be going back to Grapevine Ford-Mercury for anything in the future.

  • STAY ON TOP OF YOUR GAME DEALING WITH THESE GUYS

1 out of 5 starsby Cynthia McPhee on 02/13/2021

Poor customer service. Once you purchase a vehicle you are on your own. They failed to return a rental truck after reassuring me it would be handled. It sat in their parking lot for two weeks and cost me $1800.00. It's been five months and still unresolved. Sold me a CPO 2019 Lincoln Navigator for $85,000 with a cracked windshield and bad tires and bad Instrument panel which obviously did not go through the 200 point inspection. I was told there was nothing they could do about it. STAY ON TOP OF YOUR GAME WHEN DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE GUYS BECAUSE ONCE THE SALE IS FINAL SO IS THE CUSTOMER!!!!

  • Dru Kaba [non-permissible content removed]

    2 out of 5 starsby Sharon A on 12/05/2020

DISHONEST [non-permissible content removed] - Don't walk, RUN from this dealership's finance office. Dru Kaba, director of finance is dishonest and gives bad car dealers a bad name. He ran my credit 3 times even though I gave him the info on my pre-approved vendor. He changed my fin from my pre-approved vendor to a vendor of his choice. He said that he had the right to do that. I recorded the conversation because I'm sure he will have a different version of the conversation. He was just short of rude. I relayed to him that I did not want to purchase the KAHU subscription for $499 and he emailed me back that I couldn't cancel it. That's a second lie. I am a woman, I am older and I am black. Apparently 3 strikes and I'm screwable.

  • Absolutely horrible experience

1 out of 5 starsby Joe on 04/14/2020

This dealership should be shut down. My experience buying a vehicle here was one of the worst of my life. We were drawn to them by the USAA Car Buying Service and couldn't have been more misled throughout the process. They claimed they didn't have any of the vehicles we were asking about in stock and then tried to get us in another, more expensive option. Then as we were walking out they all the sudden found the vehicle we had inquired about. They are all HIGH PRESSURE, HIGH STRESS, and HIGH TENSION sales folks working for this dealership. After we purchased the vehicle we noticed a small rattle under the car which was touted as brand new. We had to go back four times before anyone would take a look at it and eventually ended up going to another ford dealership where they fixed it in no time. I can't say this enough - STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP.

  • Where do I start?

    1 out of 5 starsby Johnl4323 on 02/18/2018

Let me preface this review to say that I drove 7 hours to look at and purchase my daughter's car form this dealer. I saw the car with the advertised of 19,900.00 and decided to contact them. I locked in the price and financing through USAA and was assured by them that that was the price that I would pay and that the car was certified pre-owned and very clean, so we drove the 7 hours to go look at it with the intention to purchase it. When we got there we noticed a couple of areas on the car that had been scratched and touched up with paint, no big deal, but not ONE tire matched the other. they had four different tires on a certified pre-owned car! I reluctantly decided to buy the car because my daughter wanted it so we went in to work the deal. The salesman sat us down and came back with some paperwork showing a sales price of 23,000 after I talked to him several times on the phone concerning the price of 19,900. After some back and forth, we got the price back to 19, 900 and I let them talk me into letting them finance it for me. So, I go talk to their bald finance guy and of course he tried to sell me everything else, which was expected, but when I declined, he insulted me. I get the financing locked in and leave, reaching to check if my wallet was still there, and the that evening we discovered that a light on the passenger side mirror was broken. My daughter took it to a local dealer and they said that it wasn’t just the light, but that the mirror had some more internal damage and gave an estimate of $750. This is February 18th, we purchased the car on January 13th, and I’ve been trying to get them to fix this for a month. I’ve sent email after email and called. They’ve never responded to one of my emails, they don’t want a paper trail, and they reassure me by phone that they will take care of it, but never call me back. Not only that, I discovered that their bald finance guy let 8 banks run hard credit inquiries on my excellent credit rating dropping it 40 points when I already had financing through another bank! The more I think about my experience with these guys, the more I get upset. I’m going to have call Ford Corporate office to get this resolved.

From the time my wife and I hit the lot the customer service was awesome!! Richard Ford (Yes his last name is Ford..lol) was patient and very informative about the vehicles he was showing me. Jake Buzzard the finance manager was great and friendly.. I will definitely be referring everyone to go buy their cars from Grapevine Ford. I love my new Explorer.. P.S. I want to thank all the managers who came to shake my hand and help me get more handshakes than my wife got when she bought her car from another dealership that will not name, but it starts with an A..lol J. Great overall experience. Dustin Springer was an awesome salesman. No hassles, got exactly what we wanted. Finance dept. Was great. Will go back for our next vehicle purchase.

  • Do not trust them

    1 out of 5 starsby Phillip1231 on 02/14/2016

I emailed and spoke with Zachary with Internet sales and after six emails from him along with two phone calls verifying when I would come into the dealership, I was told when I got there that they did not have the vehicle that he had talked to me about several times. When I asked him why he would have me come in there when he knew that the truck I wanted wasn't there; Zachary's response was that unless I sign paperwork for a car he would not bring in a car for me to test drive. I'm not sure whose policy it is at this dealership to try to force a contract prior to the customer testing driving the vehicle or even a similar vehicle. While I was waiting for them to figure out what was going on, I overhead another couple that stated they had already been there three times and the dealer has yet to produce the car they wanted. I told Zachary that I would not buy a car without being able to touch it and his response was to attempt to hand me a copy of the window sticker for a vehicle that is at another dealer over 200 miles away. This dealer will tell you to come in to work out the deal but they will never show you the actual car unless you sign the paperwork to purchase the car first. Do not trust them or believe anything they have say. If the ask you to come in to the dealership then demand a picture with the sales man standing next to the actual vehicle and ensure that the VIN number is visible. Needless to say I will buy the truck I want somewhere else.
  • No Good/Dishonest

    1 out of 5 starsby aaron124 on 06/19/2015

Purchased a vehicle in January, and the finance dept sold me a warranty that was "void" due to engine modifications (even after I mentioned the modifications, was told it would be covered if I let them do the work). Quickly learned the vehicle was not going to be covered and contacted the dealer. Was told the paperwork was turned in, and I would be taken care of less than a month after purchase. 6 months, 5+ employees (including director of finance), multiple emails/phone calls (many not returned), and I have yet to be taken care of. Save yourself the headache, time, and money. Shop elsewhere.
  • Horrible sales experience...NO INTEGRITY, AND ABSOLUTE DISHONESTY!!!!

    1.5 out of 5 starsby sis77 on 09/16/2010

My experience started with an email/internet exchange about a used car. I was notified by a G'vine Ford salesman that something had come in that I might use. When I went to the dealership I found a nice little car that could posssibly fill my requirements. The salesman told me some things that it needed and I pointed out other flaws than needed to be corrected. The salesman specifically pointed out that the brakes needed to be replaced and he said their mechanic said immediately upon looking at the vehicle that they would have to be replaced....the salesman said they would have to do that for safety reasons and inspection. The salesman further said, ' but that won't be a problem and we will corrrect the other things you have pointed out and the price will remain what we originally said. Basically, we (the salesman and I had agreed on a price on the 'net/email exchange). After I drove the car and had a friend come over to also review the vehicle I had agreed to the price that the salesman had sent me on the net. HOWEVER, as we began to ask that they put all of what we had agreed to in writing the salesman would come back to me ...one item at a time, and say ;his manager said 'we really can't do that for this price'...'we would have to charge you more'. The divide came when he came back from his manager and said..'we really can't replace the brakes either'...the manager thinks they will pass inspection so he won't replace them'. This is a car I am buying for a child of mine....HOLY MOLY! so the management is willing to sell an unsafe car ...that their mechanic has already said "brakes will need to be replaced". At this point needless to say my friend and I had enough of this bait and switch (and not standing behind what they had promised in the deal) just got up and said NO WAY! ENOUGH, THE END! The management is really inept at this dealership and treats people as if they are idiots and inbeciles and so disrespectfully. MANAGEMENT IS DISHONEST AND WITH ABSOLUTELY NO INTEGRITY. NO WAY WOULD I EVER RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP!. As a local resident of the Grapevine area I will make my friends aware of the total lack of credibility of this dealership.
  • The only way and the only place to buy!!!

This is the only time I have actually enjoyed buying a truck. No hassle of any kind. I found the truck on their website and the price I was given was the lowest of any of the dealers in DFW. Reid Harmon is a man of his word and takes care of his customers like they are old friends. Thanks for the experience. Bill Daniel

I think that Jay was a very helpful Salesman. He knew exactly what I wanted, when I wanted it, and how I wanted it. This was the greatest experience I have had at a car dealer. I really appreciate the service that they gave my family and I. I will be referring people to this dealership and will be returning for my next purchase.
  • Worst experience! Would NEVER recommend.

    1.8 out of 5 starsby huskers5 on 05/16/2010

THE MOST AWFUL experience we ever had buying a used car! Agreed to terms (actually was paying full price), was told the car was ours and the salesman, James, put the keys in my son's hands- saying it's a done deal. We were paying CASH for 97% of the vehicle but needed to finance the rest... We were 110% honest upfront. They kept telling us... It's a done deal. After 4 hours in their dealership, they changed the terms in the finance office...yes, we were pissed, yes we raised our voices a little to the finance guy. His response was...well i didn't tell you that. He was trying to make us finance 55% of the vehicle at a higher interest rate than agreed on for almost double the amount of years and he didn't see any big deal with that. Then when we told him we were told and agreed to these other terms, his response was... "well that's not what I said. I'm telling you this." My husband asked, well isn't this all Grapevine Ford?" Aaron acted like it was only him and we were starting all over in a new deal. We were told there was almost a year left of the warranty, come to find out that wasn't true - no factory warranty left. So what good was it to talk to the salesman and his manager and waiting for 3.5 hours before we finally got to talk to the finance guy if it all changes when you get into his office. No one had any accountability to what they said. What a joke, and was your typical used cars salesman crap! I'm letting all my friends know of my personal experience because I dont believe businesses should be allowed to operate like this. I was nice until waiting 4 hours and finally seeing the guy who we agreed to the original terms with. We told him nothing he said was true and he was even blown away saying no way... this is a no brainer. He told us to wait, and asked if he could get this deal, do we want the car... we said yes so we waited another 15 minutes before Anthony came out with him. Anthony asked, How can I help you. We told him that Kevin got him we didn't ask for him. So he said "Good! Go home then" in the most smug, disrespectful cocky attitude. I was shocked and amazed! I turned around and said "wow- your classy" his response was "your classy and we dont want your business - go home". I asked for his business card then his name and Anthony refused to give it to me or tell me. My daughter remember his name from a piece of paper (and it's also online with his photo :). He said, well he has this on camera - like some kind of threat. I said good, then you have all the lies on camera too! Prior to this, we spoke to this guy for 30 seconds at the most to tell him we weren't doing the deal. We didn't yell at him just simple said no deal. I blew up and was livid when he said Good! Go home then! After being in his dealership for a total of 4 hours, was paying full price for a used car, was going to pay 97% cash, being lied to in every detail... to be told "good, go home then!" Their future customers deserve to know what type of business they are running. Trust me folks, we were very pleasant and easy to work with until ever part of the deal changed and no-one had any responsibly in the deal. The worst experience and would never recommend them to even my worst enemy. Wouldn't even go down there to receive a free car if they were giving them out.... just couldn't trust them. The world works in mysterious ways though... we found a vehicle, much nicer, less mileage, better condition for a thousand dollars cheaper the next day and they accepted our cash offer and was grateful to do business with us.

TJ ‎ - Aug 4, 2011 Grapevine Ford ROCKS! It has been 11 1/2 years since I have had to buy a vehicle and I was really nervous about the whole experience. The employees at Grapevine Ford, Chaz Gilmore, Josh Purdy, Skip Harmon, Tommy Lee and Taylor, were extremely patient with me. They went over everything with me in detail and made me feel very comfortable. I LOVE my new car! If you are in the market for a new/preowned vehicle Grapevine Ford is definitely the place to go. If you don't live close to Grapevine Ford it is worth the drive. It is the "Ultimate" car buying experience. You deserve it!

Stay clear of this place. Folks do not listen, and seem to want to put you into the vehicle they want to move. I was looking for an F250, and they wanted to sell me one with hail damage at a "great savings". I explained what I wanted, and the I did not one that was pre damaged for my convenience. They were insistant on seeling the damaged vehicle. I walked out, went to 5 Star Ford, and bought a new F250 King Ranch, a 2012 Mustang 5.0, and a 2012 Shelby GT 500. I was not at Grapevine to save 3k, but to get what I wanted. If they read this maybe they might consider listening to the customer. It generally works.

I started the morning at a GMC dealership test driving their trucks. I drove up the street to Grapevine Ford where I test drove the V6 with Gus and the V8 with Jesse. I was sold on the V8. I made a decision without driving to my next stop, the Dodge dealership. Jesse, my sales rep, is a very knowledgeable in his sales approach due to his technician background. Responded quickly with an attractive quote and emailed me the sindow sticker. Listened to features I wanted, and although they did not have it on the lot they discovered it was in transit. 3 days later it came in, they stuck by their quote and offered me a fair price on my trade-in Car was what I asked for at a good price. Bought it that day.

I had been warned by another dealer that I would not like dealing with Grapevine Ford. So understanably, my approach to them was with caution. However, with every step of the process, I was pleasantly surprised with their straight forward - open and honest approach to dealing with me as a customer. There were no big surprises. I was not held hostage and there was no pressure. We have recommended Grapevine Ford to our family and friends and will continue to do so in the future. Domenic Mediate was our salesman and he was great. Felt like we had known him for some time.

I was mis-lead by the used car sales person and the used car sales manager about my used truck I purchased having an alarm. It has anti-theft, but will not make a sound if anyone breaks into the truck. Now that the truck is sold, I am not getting my phone calls returned.

I actually had a good experience with Grapevine Ford. I visited back in February of 2011 and met with Josh Purdy. He went through the entire process of purchasing a new vehicle with me in a very professional and courteous manner. I was very specific in what I wanted and he bent over backwards to get it for me. No questions asked and no pushing me to buy something I didn't want.
