Replacing the A/C Heat/Cool Actuator on the passenger side
by B. Nguyen on 04/17/2023I scheduled an appointment to replace the AC Heat/Cool Actuator on the passenger side. The technician took 30 minutes to diagnose the problem and confirm that the actuator needed replacing. I have searched all youtube videos about replacing… an A/C Heat/Cool actuator for my car, which is the 2011 Buick Enclave, and most videos show that it took less than 30 minutes to replace it. However Beck and Masten Service Representative, Kelly, told me this job needs about 8.8 hours of labor. Each hour of labor will cost me about $190. If we do that math right, replacing the A/C Heat/Cool Actuator for my Buick Enclave will cost me 9 hours of waiting and $1,700 and the part is $152. All in all, it will cost me roughly $2,000 and 9 hours of waiting. I couldn't believe what I heard at that point. So, I had to pay a $190 diagnosis fee and took my car home. I went to a local car repair shop and showed the mechanics the youtube video of how to replace it. It took him 25 minutes to get everything done. He charged me $80 for his labor. The part is $40 from Autozone. The total cost is $120. What is the difference between 9 hours of wait and $2000 in cost and 25 minutes of wait and $120 in cost? You can see the answer yourself. by Patricia on 03/20/2023It all started with a phone call. I called to inquire about stock #SK203 which I was told was in stock. I then received a call from Maximo Garcia the salesperson letting me know the vehicle was in stock. I informed him that I had newborn… baby and needed to buy a vehicle with urgency and I needed to get as much as possible over the phone so I can just get there and sign the paperwork. We spoke a few times and had agreed to a price which he text me screenshot of the total drive out that was our agreed price including tax, title and license. Upon everything being agreed. We submitted credit to get the financing part done. He requested pictures of DL, insurance and additional photos. I responded to all his request of information because I was under the impression that price was agreed upon and it was not just the financing part done. I sent all the requested documents and waited. I then received a phone call from Maximo Garcia stating that he had talked to his sales manager Jorge Gomez, and we had an issue. The total drive out of the vehicle had changed by 4K because his manager could no longer honor the deal that was agreed upon. Playing the usual bait and switch between him and his manager he called me and said price had only changed $1500 dollars. My biggest gripe is the fact that I take care of my credit and sales person and manager had no issues lying to me about a what I thought was a done deal and pulled my credit. I will get this all the way to the GM and General Motors themselves because credit is nothing to play with specially when they are just being sleezy. BEWARE ALL CUSTOMERS OF THE TYPE OF BUSINESS BEING RAN AT THIS DEALERSHIP! THEY WILL LIE TO YOU TO ANY EXTENT AND PULL YOUR CREDIT EVENTHOUGH THEY ARE NOT BEING SINCERE ABOUT THE CAR DEAL!!! DO NOT TRUST THEM WHEN THEY TELL YOU PRICE IS AGREED UPON.We acknowledge your review and are currently looking into the events you’ve detailed.
Best buying experience ever!

Just the greeting from rolling into the parking lot made me feel like this was the right place. The salesman I worked with Jason Ruppert was pleasant and… professional. He helped me find what I was looking for at a price I can afford. Kim in the finance dept who walked me thrived the signing was also fantastic! She took the time to explain all of the coverages and pricing for everything. She also made sure I walked out with what I needed without breaking the bank. That’s how car buying should be! RIP OFF [non-permissible content removed]
by Joe C on 05/31/2022Long story short...traded in a 2022 Toyota Prius...was given 27,000.00 for it....payoff was 30,707.42...salesman asked what is the payoff and I said ABOUT 30,000.00 ballpark as I did not know actual amount. I took a 2016 Nissan JUNK...I… mean JUKE for a test drive....ended up doing a deal on it....had to return to Beck & Masten later that evening when I realized they put 30,000.00 as the actual payoff....WHAT DEALERSHIP DOES NOT CALL AND GET THE ACTUAL PAY OFF AMOUNT on a trade in???? And they NEVER listened the THREE times I told them my address was not updated on my license...all paperwork has old address... Anyway....after three days of misery driving the Nissan....I decided to go back and just ask If there was anyway to get Into a different vehicle...surprisingly my salesman said " lets find you another vehicle"...okay cool....I decided on a 2018 Ford Escape...when I asked my salesman If we were starting over....(like I had just brought in the Toyota Prius he said " we will get it done for you"...well off to F & I and the guy was basically doing a SLEIGHT OF HAND magic show on his electronic pad...I felt VERY RUSHED and never was given the chance to read the paperwork I was signing....when finished I was handed a USB stick and told all the paperwork is on it....hmmmm.....did not get to look it over until I got home and BAM...TRADE IN ALLOWANCE for NISSAN JUKE 12780.00 WITH A PAYOFF OF 18,777.72....WOW...RIP OFF.....and my ORIGINAL 2000.00 DOWN PAYMENT was PENALIZED 600.00...WOW...RIP OFF....AND....They ADDED a PROTECTION PACKAGE without telling me to the tune of 1895.00...AND they added a SERVICE CONTRACT for THREE OIL CHANGES...1300.00.....RIP OFF BIG TIME....my calculations are this.....Im out 600.00 on original down payment....2000.00 on upside down debt for second trade...plus 1895.00 for unwanted package and another 1300.00 for unwanted service contract....RIPPED OFF FOR OVER 5800.00....STAY AWAY FROM [non-permissible content removed] UPDATE....I received a call from F & I a few days ago and was told what if we do this.....turns out that the guy making the offer HAD NOT even spoken to upper management and was making offers he could NOT back up....NOW I have received yet more calls from OTHERS making different offers....SAME THING...they call, make offer, and THEN have to get UPPER MANAGEMENT to approve them...THIS IS A WASTE OF TIME & TOTAL RUNAROUND UPDATE...Have spoken with an expert consumer contract lawyer and I will take this to ARBITRATION if need be UPDATE...have made initial contact with KPRC 2 NEWS of Houston's CONSUMER INVESTIGATIVE REPORTS I have above average credit and now I am looking at paying a total of just under $ 44,000.00 for a 2018 Ford Escape with almost 50,000 miles...THIS IS ABSURD I WILL NOT be RIPPED OFF and just stand by and take it from BECK & MASTENUPDATE...I am not able to remove this review....BECK & MASTEN have stepped up to the plate and WE HAVE REACHED AN AMICABLE SOLUTION. The contract is NOW ACCEPTABLE and I feel that I HAVE BEEN TREATED FAIRLY in the end.. I am glad that BECK & MASTEN were willing to work this out with me. Give them a chance.

With the supply chain problems, there are very few cars on the lots in our area and we wanted to see what the two new colors -- Sage Metallic, and Rich Garnet Metallic -- look like in… person. I called several dealerships within a 3 hour drive of my home to see what they had on their lots. We found a Sage Metallic at Cavender Buick in Weimar (about an hour from home). Thank you Jose for the time you spent with us looking at the car. We still wanted to see a Rich Garnet Metallic Enclave before we could decide what color we wanted. I had talked to Victoria at Beck and Masten South in Houston and she told me that they had a Rich Garnet Metallic Enclave on the lot. So we drove an hour and a half from Weimar to South Houston. When we got there, we did not see that car on the lot, so asked a salesman where it was. He looked it up on his computer and then went to talk to someone. He came back with his manager who told us that they did not have it on the lot; it was in transit and would be there in a week or so. What is so wrong with TELLING THE TRUTH? We were not going to buy a car today. We just wanted to see the colors so we could make a decision. We would not have wasted several hours of our time to drive so far out of our way if we had known that we were not going to be able to see that color car. Because they can't tell the truth about such a simple request, I would not recommend this dealership to ANYONE.Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at Beck & Masten Buick GMC South. Rosie Hernandez and Beck & Masten have always worked with me to find a time window for service that meets my constraints. This most recent visit was an excellent example.… I also get excellent service advice from Beck & Masten regarding what I should have done, what I can delay based upon usage, and most importantly, what services I should accelerate due to planned trips and stress on the vehicle. I really value having the same service rep for my 6 year history with Beck & Masten. What makes it very special is how hard she works and how much knowledge she has. Thank you. We had already spent 4 hours at another dealership prior to arriving at Beck & Masten, and we were ready to purchase a vehicle. Marcos Garcia was professional and was great to work with. I know… he got us the best deal on our vehicle, and the atmosphere at the dealership was friendly and no hassling. It honestly was the best experience thus far in the many years of purchasing a vehicle. We appreciated the honesty and none of the back and forth on the best deal.
