Everything was excellent
Great dealership that I would recommend to anyone!
by laurav on 09/09/2010I bought an Honda Insight from Lute Riley and am very happy with my purchase. The salesman, Mark Dupuy, was honest and up front about the cost of the vehicle. I was given the full cost of the vehicle off the lot over the phone, and when I… came in, the price was the same. No bait and switch. Just up front and honest pricing. I received an awesome financing rate, fair price, lots of useful information on the vehicle, and they even helped me setup the bluetooth phone capabilities before I drove away. Overall, they made my car purchase as pain-free as possible!Do not buy from this Dealership
by FBurgos on 08/13/2010I bought a used car from this dealership, and they are the poster children for [violative content deleted]. After I signed the contract, they tell me they only have one key for the car....if I wanted one, they would be glad to make one… ...for $185. The car did not have floor mats, they connected one stereo speaker so I would hear something, when I was not happy with the sound, I discovered they had installed a pair of $5 speakers, as the previous owner took his after market speakers out. If you want a quality used Honda, try Car Max or some other Honda Dealership, not [violative content deleted.Beware! Dishonest, Inconsistent, Lies!
by suehan on 11/20/2009I was doing initial internet shopping. I bought my old car from them 12 years ago and I thought they'd be at least decent with me. But this is the one and only dealer sending me inconsistent price quote. First, their sales lady quoted tax +… TTL = $1590. Then after I ask them to give me breakdown of TTL (because it seems high), their manager emailed me back with tax+TTL= $1925. $335 higher! When I asked them what's going on, they've been evasive, not straightforward, and then being rude by calling me and arguing with me over the phone. I told their manager that if they already started lying and cheating and being so inconsistent on internet quote with me, how can I trust them even if we reach the price point that I'll accept. Because I'll never know whether they'll do something else behind my back and screw me in the actual package I'm getting. I can't trust them! Case closed! Also, they'll try to sell a lot of add-ons to you even after I told them specifically that I want a base package. DON'T DEAL WITH THEM AND DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!Beware of the internet quote
by fwcar on 08/02/2009Even Lute Riley Honda provides the lowest internet quote and add-on prices in the Dallas area, you none the less feel you got rip off by [violative content deleted] car sales people. Be very careful when you negotiate your purchase and… check every line of charges. This isn't the place you want to buy your next car
by el13 on 05/25/2009These people are just [violative content deleted]. They will give you a quote over the phone and then you will never get the price they quoted you. Internet sales team is a real joke. Also they load vehicles with bunch of overpriced, ugly… looking accessories which they also try to add to the price and which makes it 1500-2500 more than a sticker price. Wheel locks that Honda sells for $65 (when you can find aftermarket for $25) in Lute Riley will cost you $295. Same factor you can apply to everything else they sell. Never will step into this place again!!!ONLY GO HERE IF YOU WELCOME HARASSMENT
by defiance on 02/25/2009We went here to test drive a particular car (and we made it clear that we ONLY wanted to test drive, we were absolutely in no way in the market to buy THAT DAY) and the foreign sales person still made us go through the same stupid pushy… crap that they normally do. It's like ALL they are educated to do is go through their sales model, and when you throw them something else- a curve ball- instead of actually listening to you, they ignore you and keep pushing. But this is where it gets good- if you go there and explain to them you have no intention of buying at least for a few months, be prepared for DAILY phone calls asking you what they can do to wrap this up. It will come from different people too. After you explain to them that if they don't stop calling, you're not going to do business with them at all- and that YOU will call THEM if you have any questions, be ready for them to ignore what you just said and have the audacity to ask, "So what can we do to wrap this up?" And then when you explain AGAIN what you just explain and tell them not to call you again, be prepared for them to call the next day. I think the fault lies in the management and training program. It isn't the salesperson(s)' fault that they aren't taught how to deal with situations where people actually HAVE a brain and won't be pushed around. They need a better training program or better management soon or they're going to drive all their customers away to [another dealership].I would never shop here again. They're not true to their word.
No response to a request for quote
by digger14 on 08/18/2008I sent a request for quotation (RFQ) with a specification sheet to a salesman that I talked to on the phone at Lute Riley. The spec sheet was for a 08 Accord Coupe EX-L V6. I was looking for a price and delivery on the exact car I wanted.… No trade in. Cash buyer. I had done my homework on the car specifications and pricing. It was all laid out in the RFQ. Never received a response to my pricing request. Apparently, they were not interested in working with me on this deal.Rick Bell - EXCELLENT
by 1993civic on 07/31/2008I am from the "old" school way of thinking. Passed on from Generation to Generation - You never get a car serviced at a "DEALER"! Well I was surprised and have been blown away each time I've been back. I have 1993 Civic which my son will… get in a few months for High School, last year I realized it needed some work (Timing belt replaced, A/C worked on, etc). So I shopped around and around and decided I'd give it a try and actually go to a Honda Dealer (my first time)....Long story short they have taken good care of me and not tried to shove "needless" repairs down my throat, Rick Bell is the only reason I will continue to keep on coming back with "any" issues on my cars! I highly recommend Rick Bell as your Service Advisor...He is truly a professional at his craft.Overpriced, actual price and internet price doesn't match
by jimmy45 on 07/30/2008I went to Lute after got internet quotation for Honda Fit Sport and had the appointment with Jeff Kenerly but he couldn't met due to busy with other customer. So we got another salesman Carmelo Adorno. Because of no car available we need to… make another appointment. So I did. Guess what, when I arrived for my 2nd appointment, he couldn't meet me so I got another salesman (Stefan Age). This salesman is very good. After test drive I went to the office for the paperwork. Instead of the internet price, they gave me about $2000 more expensive than price quotation due to dealer package. The worst thing they gave me Honda Fit Base instead of Honda Fit Sport. It's almost $4000 more expensive than TMV price for Honda Fit Base price. They must be joking. First they don't honor their internet price then they tried to convince me to get another car with almost $4000 more expensive price.I was told by a manager that they don't have control over what price they advertise on the internet. Yeah, right!! THe price they quoted in person was several thousand dollars higher. There must be something illegal about this practice... like false advertising .
Very Pleasant
by lowmaint on 06/24/2008I just bought my CR-V from Lute Riley. I negotiate the price and agree on everything by e-mail before I walk into a dealer. I don't deal with dealers that don't give me a firm price and spell out all dealer add-ons by e-mail. I got… quotes from 3 dealers via [violative content deleted] and also got quotes from 2 other dealers. Dave Chiles, Internet Manager@Lute Riley, was the only one who gave me the firm price and spelled out everything by e-mail. Most other dealers said "Come in and I'll beat my competitor's price" "I'll give you the best deal if you come in", etc. I ain't wasting my time driving to dealers unless they promise to give me what I want. Dave was also the only one who initially contacted me by e-mail instead of phone, as I had requested--every other caller ignored my request and called me instead of e-mailing me first!!! So I went to Lute Riley just to do the paperwork today. Dave didn't try to sell me anything else or change the price. Their customer service manager didn't push when I said I didn't want any accessories. Their business manager didn't push when I declined to buy extended warranty. I walked away with exactly what I wanted at the price quoted by e-mail in about an hour. I would buy from Dave and this dealer again and highly recommend him to anyone who wants a Honda. [violative content deleted]Quick...You have 15 minutes to decide!
by cynical_buyer on 05/28/2008Got the usual round of emails (not true "quotes," but rather rapid-fire solicitiations with no prices), after going through Edmunds. Returned a call to Lute Riley and they said they would be doing a swap w/ another dealership and could get… the Accord with the trim package (without the dealer-added crap) I wanted. When I asked for his best price, he offered me $1000 OVER MSRP! I told him that was too much and said thanks. He called back 3 minutes later and offered to meet me somewhere between his "invoice" and his first offer. (I find it unbelieveable that given the availablity of actual dealer cost data online, he still thought I was an uninformed idiot.) I told him I needed to review my numbers to make an offer, and I could hear his boss in the background gruffly telling him to inform me that I needed to decide withing the next 15 minutes, otherwise it would not be available. (I guess he decides how many Honda actually produces.) I called back after 2 hours once I could prepare an educated offer. After he rejected my first offer, I asked him what he thought was a fair profit margin, and he stumbled around and kept trying to convince me that the invoice price was his actual cost, but wouldn't answer my question. When I pressed him for a fair percentage margin, he said "8-10%." I laughed. He realized the absurdity of his statement, and then said 4%. I told him my initial offer to him was actually just under 5%. He quickly lifted the price $250 more than my offer AND removed the window tinting. I guess they just get put out when the customer is not enough of a moron to pay $1600 for $180 worth of add-ons ON TOP of a 6% profit margin.Over promise, Under Deliver (old
by gsj2 on 04/12/2008I used the internet to search for a great car deal w/ no less than 7 dallas-ft. worth area dealers. All were curteous and professional EXCEPT Lute Riley. I was shocked, since typically Plano and Richardson dealers know their customer base… is savvy (it's an upper income, well-educated demographic). The miscommunication from internet to sales person, then sales MANAGER to sales person, was unprofessional. The manager called me up and apologized and over "great things" if I came in again. All I got was the ol' "waiting game" and paper pushing figures. I walked out. I felt badly for the sales person. I can only imagine that they stay in business because they have the top autos in the biz. Again, I was treated w/ peaceful respect at 6 other dealerships. This one was a real mess--management to blame, not the sales person.Beware of this dealer !!!
by devang21 on 01/31/2008Recently I bought a new oddesey and the experience was ok with this dealer to buy. But the nightmare started once I bought from here. I asked for the accessories like Cargo tray, window tint etc. alongwith vehicle. It took them 1 and half… month and atleast 10 calls to fix that up. They asked me to give 5 rating if customer calls within 3-4 days of purchase so that their Bonus go up. I did so as I didn't have prob just to help. After that, they really didn't care of the accessories fix. Also, The finance manager- Matt - needed 10 voice message to talk for the payment. Its just the worst experience so far as the customer service is concerned !!Honda Care!!!
by hinano on 01/11/2008I bought new car from this dealer. I have to say it's very stress during purchasing period. (But that I prepared.) After long negotiation, I agreed to buy and went to see financial staff. He made me pay extra for Honda Care, which I think… it's nice to have. Then he conclusively told me my new monthly payment so I asked for exact Honda care cost because I might pay in cash. He said 2000 something for 6 year service policy. Here it is,Honda Care is nationwide service that we can buy anytime with any dealer or directly online. And you will find out that online offer is only 560 for the same policy!! This is not end yet. I went back and confront him. He said for first car buyer, the APR I get is quite low so he had to add his margin here.I said 1700 is not a little margin!!! and showed him the web. He asked if I could buy Honda Care from him with his dealer cost eventually, which is 870, your audience! I dnt wanna argue anymore so I said yes. He quickly re-ran all the financial document and showed me that the Honda Care cost was changed. He kept say good bye so I left uncomfortably. After I reviewed the financial document at home I found that he added my car price around 2-300....Fool me twice!!!! I wont recommend to anyone close, of course. Or I can tell the others to keep an eye on every document they give you.Good services
by hinano on 01/11/2008I bought a new accord here. After I get passed through tough sales, I find service department is very helpful. They should come clear with the sales so they can be the better dealer.they totally screwed me.buyers beware of lute riley
by vipinkatangur on 11/08/2007i took a car at lute riley.they delivered my choice of colour for the date which they promised but first the finance guy offered me 11.50% interest rate and when i went back after one week he told because it will be 12.99% because the 11.50… is only if signed the paperwork on that particular day. i was totally pissed off but i have to take the car because i paid 3000 deposit on the car and the second thing was wrong vin number on the paperwork.the compensation they paid me for that whole mess is just a tank full of gas. and the last thing but the big thing which screwed me a lot was the sales guy offered some protection pacakage.i told that i don't need that but at last he offered me that all together i will do that for 21,300.he said that also includes the pacakage.but after one week i recognised that the protection package was not installed on the car.so i called him and he told to come in and see him.when i went to lute riley honda they said if got paperwork for that as WE OWE YOU. and they told i need to pay money for that.how can i pay money if i was already charged for that in the car price. so buyers be careful before buying car with lute riley honda.Dealership can't keep their promise...Buyers Beware!!!!!
by dpryor on 10/14/2007I was quoted a price over the phone for a used Honda Element that my wife and I had previously looked at. I was told that they would give me the price if I was serious and would buy it that night. (Note that the salesman got the manager's… approval before agreeing to my offer.) I told the salesman I was serious and would make the long journey to their dealership. I get there, drive the vehicle, look it over, read the Car Fax report and state that I'm ready to buy. While I'm filling out the financing forms, the salesman tells me that the price will be $500 higher than what was originally agreed. I said that was not acceptable and that we had agreed to a price. He goes to the manager to let them know that we were only going to buy at the original price. The manager comes out and tells my wife and I that they can't sell it for this price. I told him this was a sorry way to do business. Promise a customer one price, and then jack it up when they're ready to buy. Needless to say, I had to walk out very angry. I drove a long way for nothing. I promised myself that I will never set foot in the Lute Riley dealership again. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!As I returned to work on Monday, the salesman from Lute Riley called me and offered a very generous compromise price. I asked to get it in writing as I was not about to make another trip to their dealership to get the shaft again. They faxed me the offer that was signed by the salesman and the manager. To make a long story short, I bought the vehicle. While I can't totally forget the first experience with them where they didn't hold their promise on price, I must respect their effort at making an amends. BTW: The salesman (Michael Redd) did an outstanding job of working with me through all of this. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a Honda.
I too had to sign multiple finance agreements-coinceidence?
by smccaffery on 09/22/2007Coincidence or an accepted sales practice? See other reviews here. The finance/insurance manager I too was told was in training after I caught him adding products and costs to my Finance agreement that I had already turned down or wasn't… even offered at any point. I bot an ACCORD in May '07 at LR. The salesman and manager were ok, at least professional. The business/finance manager added 2 items to my finance agreement which I did not agree to and one of them he told me I was getting for free but he had to show it someplace! After I made him remove the window eteching, listed in the finance agreement as OTHER, (and never even mentioned until that point) and the Tire Insurance, which he was giving to me for free, my payment was reduced by $30 per month. I will be clear that he never offered the tire insurance for free, he just asked me if it would be ok to just give me the insurance. I made it perfectly clear that I did not want to be paying for it, if it was free that was fine. I thought he was trying to make amends for the badgering he was doing. I understand part of sales is a presentation to get you to want to buy something, but if a customer says no thank you you MUST respect that.Nothing like car buying is supposed to be, it was great!
by wildthing1 on 08/21/2007I recently visited this dealership to purchase my new 2007 Honda CR-V. I had looked everywhere in the metroplex to find that no one had the inventory and no one seemed to want to help me get what I wanted. I went to Lute Riley expecting the… same treatment I'd received everywhere else. Much to my suprise my salesperson greeted me immediately and showed me to a huge selection of Honda CR-V's. Later I was introduced to the sales manager, he just wanted to thank me for visiting and doing business with them! The business manager was very courteous and really helpful. This was easily the best purchase experience I've ever had. The inventory was huge, the staff was proffessional and low pressure. I will be buying many cars from Lute Riley Honda.Love the Car, Dislike the Dealership
by accelerator on 08/15/2007My experience with Lute Riley was above average. I know ahead of time a car dealership is going to attempt to add on options. They are a business and as a business want to make money. Luckily, the S2000 does not have too many options to… add on so it is easy to catch a number that shouldn't be there. The salesperson didn't know squat about the car. I was actually his first test drive and was explaining some of the features about the car to him. My only real complaint is they are to touch up a scratch that occurred in the storage garage which they haven't done yet. Also, and I had to sign my financial paperwork 3 times due to mistakes made by the finance manager (in their defense, he was in training). This has me a bit leery but I think it all worked out okay. I got copies over everything. I would purchase from there again ONLY if I was prepared and informed. If I had just walked in off the street, I would have paid considerably more.Accelerator, As the Customer Relations Manager for Lute Riley, I'm glad you found your experience above average. Of course we're always aiming higher than that. In this case it looks like we fell well short of your expectations and I apologize. Your feedback, however, has given me an opportunity to improve my sales force--in this case, retraining on S2000 product knowledge! I will also be sharing your comments with my Finance and Insurance Director. If there are any outstanding issues I can help resolve (I believe you mentioned a scratch) please give me a call at the main dealership number and ask for "Bill". Happy to help with anything I can. Even when a company has a 96% YTD Customer Satisfaction Index, mistakes happen. Particularly when we sell over 4000 new cars a year! We'd like the opportunity to make it up to you. And I hope you enjoy that new S2000. It's a fabulous car! Thanks! Bill
The Worst Ever Dealership I have ever Visited!!!!!!!11
by sam112233 on 08/13/2007This was my first ever New Car purchase. I did much research on the Honda Accord 2007 model. I was desperate to buy it. So I went to the dealership with quotes from two other dealers. After talking to the sales person they bring the Sales… manager to compare the quotes. He discussed the price and options kindly. In case of an job emergency I had to leave the dealership with Drive Out Price about $25600 After two days I went to the dealership again but I could not find the same salesmanager As I met the other day. Now they will tell me the different price as $27600 drive out for the same vehicle and trim. I told them about the other manager. They say they cannot give me this deal. This delership now put the Dealership Options mandatory to buy as they will put Stripes($15 to $25Market Price) Wheel Locks($45 to $65market price) sunroof wisor($100 to $150market price) they will charge around $295 for each options. You must have to pay more than $1200 for the options you dont want. Thenafter I show the 2007 Honda Clearance sale advertisement On Local Networks. I went again to the dealership with confidance that I would bring home the car today. They were also participated in Honda Clearance Sale . I asked about the Honda Accord EX-L with Nav. they quoted me around $27600. I asked them they quoted me $25600 drive out price last time when there was no clearance. The sales person says it is just gimmicks to attract the customers. I was so much disappointed. Because this was my third visit to the same dealership and I dint buy the car so the sales person in the office dint like it. They thought I had to buy any car today.I dint buy any car from them. I would never visit this dealership again in future. And Would suggest the wise customers not to visit this dealership at all.Sam, As the Customer Relations Manager at Lute Riley I want to apologize for your bad experience at our store. It's our intent and committment to give every guest who walks through the door a "WOW" experience. In your case, it looks like we let you down. In fact, your description of your experience was so bad, I did some research hoping to uncover flaws in our process that we might be able to correct. Since I do not know any names in this situation it's difficult to address the actual specifics of your experience. But from the figures you quoted it looks like you were interested in the Accord EXL V6 Navi (I know it's not the 4-cylinder model because it's MSRP is about the same as the drive-out price you quoted--no deal there!). Working backward from the drive-out price you were offered--$27,600, subtracting $200 for title and license fees, and 6.25% sales tax I get our offered selling price on the vehicle: roughly $26,000. That price is $1200 under the invoice price of $27,200 (according to Edmunds), and $1400 under the TMV of $27,400! And that price, of course, included all the extra equipment that we added to the car. Even during the Honda Clearance, that's a great price. As you can see, Sam, we really did want your business. As to that earlier number--I have to think there was a misunderstanding. If you were indeed mislead, I apologize. The way we became the #1 Honda Dealer in Texas was by taking great care of our customers and offering them great deals. It looks like in your case we missed on the first--but no one can say we didn't offer you a fantastic car deal--on a fantastic car! We wish you luck in your car shopping and hope you get and enjoy a new Honda! Bill
Mr.Bill, The car I talked about was HONDA ACCORD EX-L WITH NAVIGATION AND DRIVE OUT PRICE WAS $25600.00 BEFORE THE CLEARANCE AND IN CLEARANCE YOU GOT $800 TO $1200 OFF FROM THE HONDA CORP. ITSELF. I am still in the market for Honda Accord. You should teach your sales associates how to behave with the customers. The car and the Honda corporation itself is one of the best brands. Even you says your dealership is the #1. But it still lacks much of basic things. I hope you will take care of it. Thanks for replying to comments. Sam P.S. Recently I called and asked the Honda Accord 2008 prices; they said If you interested in buying this car you have to pay $3000 over the MSRP.The same call I made to your competetion and they would not charge me anything over the MSRP. What you say?
Hello, thank you for sharing your positive experience! We do hope we can be of assistance in the future. Take care!
