Ram Truck
by DorthyMcClendon on 11/06/2019I was excited to purchase my second Ram truck. My husband is a disabled retired military veteran and this was to be the vehicle I used to drive him back and forth to doctors in San Antonio, Texas. Unfortunately, it seems this may not occur.… I attempted to purchase VIN 1C6RREFT1KN793298, Stock # C90499, a 2019 1500 LoneStar on Saturday from San Marcos Chrysler Dodge Ram. The truck was listed at a sale price of $27,257 on your website Saturday, I said I wanted it and requested an invoice so I could pick up a cashiers check and pick the truck up Monday. You were closed on Sunday and prices dropped. I had confirmation and was assured on line you would honor the prices for ten days. The lowest price I had confirmed was $17,469. Wether it was intentional or unintentional, this dealership allowed people to believe these prices were correct. Numerous operators, online chat specialists, a message personnel were informed on Monday that I wished to purchase this truck and needed an invoice total with TT&L so I could pick up a cashiers check and come pick up the truck on Monday. Not one person informed me the prices were incorrect but instead sent me pictures of the truck with the same prices on them and asked me when I wanted to come see it. I repeated I wanted to purchase the truck and needed the total. They all assured me a sales person would be with me shortly. By not saying there was a problem with the pricing and knowing I wished to purchase the truck based on the online price and the pictures they sent me, I was led to believe the price was correct. This continued all day Monday. The website was never changed or even temporarily shut down until the problem was fixed. I waited 5 plus hours at my bank to receive the total so I could pick up the cashiers check and drive the two hour drive to get there. November 5th, I was informed by Michael Diers that they would not be honoring any of the online price quotes. He said there was a problem with the pricing. Mr Diers quoted me $39,600 out the door. I told him it was higher than I could go but asked him for a price breakdown. He asked me why I needed it if I wasn’t going to buy a truck. I told him I would like to see it. He said he would take a picture and send it to me. After a second request, he sent me a picture of Ram rebates but no dealer discounts. I then asked him for an invoice. He sent me a picture of a piece of paper that had two numbers $36,455 and $39,600. I asked how much the dealer discount was and received no response. I asked if he was the manager or a sales rep and again asked for an invoice. He sent the invoice and I asked who the manager was. His response” The price is not going to change, its set by Chrysler, if the price doesn't work for you i understand, enjoy your day“ I told him I didn’t ask about the price and again asked if he was the manager. He stated he was the commercial director. I offered $30,000 plus TT&L, an amount more than I was quoted. He informed me they are declining it. For the third time I requested the managers name. He finally gave me the name Xavier and a phone number. The number was to the desk. They told me Xavier just left on a test drive and leave a number and he would return my call. He never called. Last night the truck was priced on line at$35,498. Less than he quoted me. I know there should have been a dealers discount some where but it was never given to me. People were scammed into coming to their dealership by false pricing. They knew the prices were wrong and made no attempt to inform people they were wrong until they arrived on their lot. I am sure others were encouraged to come and see with the same pictures their personnel sent me. I informed Mr Diers that I felt this may be a case for the BBB and the Texas Attorney General. He simple stated,” You do what you feel you have to do ‘. I hope this is not how all Ram dealers treat potential customers.Horrible customer service
by Will on 10/07/2019I purchased a vehicle actually two in the Same day an will never do buisness with them again. They are not honest an cant get ahold of anyone. They only contact you to make a sale after that the hell with you. Now I'm stuck with a truck… that apparently the bed was repainted an doesnt match make since why they kept wanting it parked between cars so you couldn't notice the color differnce. Guess this is how they do business I bought two vehicles in one day from them never again. Management wont even give a straight answer or have the decency to return a call. Not the salesman's fault.Hello Will, I hate to hear you had a less than good experience with our Service Department. I’d like to understand how we can do better and make this situation right. Do you have a few minutes for a phone call? My direct line is 512-831-7625 ext.252 Cody.Thank you for being a customer

by ex.joe_S on 04/27/2017updated 05/05/2017I bought a 2016 Dodge Ram pickup and got a great deal. My sales man was Rhette Robinson and He will be our sales man when we buy my wife her Jeep. Rhette was outstanding and no high pressure sales. This was the best and easiest sales… experience I have ever had. C. Ray McCurleyHorrible service department
by madisunkg on 12/20/2016The service department is an absolute joke. Took my Jeep in after several days in a row having to jump it despite having a new battery and starter. Jeep says there's a draw coming from my sunroof motor that is draining the battery, so I ask… them to just disconnect it since I never use my sunroof anyways. I get my car back, and my check engine light is on and my AC will not work. I take it back to them, and they say it's just a "coincidence" that it stopped working as soon as I got my car back from them. Hector was rude and incompetent. And Terry was no help either. I get it, I'm a young girl with a car problem. They look at me and see ignorance and dollar signs. But I wasn't born yesterday and this isn't my first rodeo. I do not appreciate being lied to and taken advantage of. These people are not decent human beings. [non-permissible content removed], just like all the other reviews say. Go anywhere but here.Shady and Unethical
by sl1mwhitman on 03/29/2016I purchased a brand new truck from them with aftermarket "upgrades". One such upgrade was the tires. They installed tires that were not rated for the weight of my truck. I have had reoccurring troubles with the vehicle and this issue.… Other shops are not willing to service the tires on the vehicle as they are overloaded, unsafe, and a liability. Their sales manager refused to replace them with safe and properly rated tires. He also admitted that the tires will wear out twice as fast on the vehicle, because of the weight of the truck. So disappointed with this dealership.Saw me coming
by Grieving_Buyer on 08/09/2015Although my salesman was pleasant enough, I feel I was taken advantage of on the deal. I am now under water on this car and found out I am paying more than it is valued at on Edmunds. I was a grieving widow and didn't do due diligence… researching. Not going back
by neveragain19 on 12/11/2009Up until the point that they got my money it wasn't that much worse than any other time I've bought a car. BUT, once they got the check in their hands they couldn't get anything right the first time and didn't seem to care. I gave… them a check at 10am and was told the car ( Maxima ) would be ready at 4:30pm, I got there at 4:45pm and 2 hours later it still wasn't ready. When I went to do a walk around I saw that the tint job was full of wrinkles and bubbles and the back seats (leather interior) were covered with dark spots. When I pointed these things out the salesman, who by the way was not the same one who sold me the car, he said to give the tint a couple days to tighten up and that I could bring it back to get the interior cleaned. Two days later the tint still looked very bad so I took it back to get BOTH issues resolved. They had the car all day, I had to call them to find out if it was ready, and when I got there the tint still sucked and nothing had been done about the back seats. I gave them another chance a few days later. Same result. I asked to speak with the Sales Manager and he suggested that I go to their vendor myself to get the tint re-done and they would pay for it. I pointed out that I had bought the car from the dealership and that their vendor was their problem, not mine, so I gave them yet another chance to make it right. This time when I picked up the car I saw that they had had it detailed. Nice, right? Wrong! One of their porters had leaned on the car with his exposed belt buckle while buffing it and had left two half-dollar sized spirals of deeply scratched paint on the rear panels(one on each side). I never let them touch the car again and paid out of my pocket to get the scratches removed. I did speak to the General Manager and he very clearly didn't give a damn. Never again will I do business with these [violative content deleted]. ps- they couldn't even get me the license plates before the temp. plates expired.Sales Department Sucked
by kathivalentino on 12/28/2008I had one of the most horrible experiences ever with their Sales Department. They kept me for HOURS, and I felt totally trapped. I attempted to escape a few times, but was headed off every time. They finally talked me into a PT LOSER! I… went ahead and signed the dotted line, so I could get out of there. When I drove off the lot, I was sick to my stomach. I knew that I had made a terrible mistake. I went back early the next morning to say I had changed my mind, and I wanted my car back (the one I traded in - a Jaguar). I thought you had 24 hours of any major purchase to change your mind. So I went back ahead of the 24 hour period. The [violative content deleted] MANAGER would NOT let me have my car back and said I had to keep the PT LOSER they sold me UNDER DURESS. Well that lovely vehicle turned out to be the biggest LEMON. First, they only gave me one key and said they had to make another one. I have had to take in back to the shop 5 times in one year. It has a major electrical problem, and everytime they say its repaired. It drives fine and then for no reason, the windows fall down or quit working. You stop at store, and it refuses to start back up, etc. The first time the electrical parts started acting up, they said the amp went out in the car. Replaced amp. Then it completely died and had to hauled in. They couldn't find a problem, that I recall. Then it did that again, I forget what they said was wrong. At one point it had to be hauled out of Austin and they wanted to charge me towing costs to take it back to original dealer in San Marcos so hauled it to a Austin dealership. Lost it for a few months, then my insurance found it. When i went to pick it up, the guy at that dealership yelled at me when I asked him what was wrong with car. HE SCREAMED that I knew where the car was all the time (remember I lost it for awhile). Then he finally answered me that they had to replace the battery. This car only had about 9,000 miles on it at that time. The battery???? Right. The rear windows just fell down one time, then wouldn't operate another time. It is a lemon. I have begun filing the paperwork for the Lemon Law. But the dealership sold me this piece of CRAP!!! And were horrible and wouldn't let me have my car back in less than 24 hours. Totally sucks and I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP TO ANYONE. Their service department is really nice to deal with though. Even if they can't fix a LEMON.Avoid this dealer
by jmediii on 06/11/2013updated 04/12/2025This dealership bought a frame damaged vehicle at auction then hid the damage from me when I bought it. When I found this out and questioned the GM, Russell A., he told me that they made a mistake but would do nothing to correct the mistake… other than allow me to trade it in to them for the damaged value. Russell A. and Terry W. are the reason car salesmen have such a bad reputation. I will never patronize this business again and will do what I can to ensure that others know about their business practices.
About our dealership
Ms. McClendon, Sorry for any inconvenience you went thru, there was a lot of confusion with pricing this weekend and Monday. Chrysler/FCA sets all employee pricing and sends us a feed, however there was an incorrect feed of dealer discounts and employees pricing sent to our website form FCA. This happened to some dealers in Texas and unfortunately were one of the few. I posted a pop up on our website as soon as one opened it explaining the situation, and I still have it up. We at no time attempted to mislead, misinform or deceive anyone. We would have rather not have had this issue with pricing, it lead to over a thousand phone calls the last few days causing us not to properly handle every customer to our satisfaction. As of last night our pricing has been corrected, with correct dealer discounts and employee pricing is posted. Once again I apologize for any confusion this may have caused to you and any other person that experienced this issue. Believe me it was a headache trying to get it corrected and posted. If you are still interested in this vehicle, we would to have you join our family of San Marcos Chrysler Dodge Ram, please let us know. Thank you and have a great day!!
