I spoke too soon!
by bpickerall on 10/10/2008I wrote a review (see below) about trouble with my RDX and lack of support from Pohanka Acura. I hereby rescind those comments - unbeknownst to me, Pohanka WAS working behind the scenes with ACURA to bring my problem to a satisfactory… resolution. They did! While it may have taken longer than I would have liked (I'm not terribly patient in these matters), I am happy that the situation was resolved equitably. Lenny Gonzales and John Gullios both were instrumental in bringing it to a happy close. I will be back for service, and eventually (though hopefully not too soon!) another new vehicle. I highly recommend Pohanka Acura. It is easy to like a company when things go without any trouble. The real test is when trouble does come - do they stand up to make things right? These guys do. Enough said.Good Business

by bpickerall on 10/01/2008After 2 months of driving my RDX, we noticed an oil spot on the driveway. I took it in to be repaired (2800 miles). They didn't have the part needed to make the repair, so I had to wait three days. When the appointed day arrived, I was… unable to reach my service advisor, so I stopped by the dealership. I was told by a different advisor they needed more parts, and didn't know when they might arrive. After a week or so, I started making phonecalls as I had yet to reach my service advisor. After many phone calls, I finally got the service director to call me back, though he was not well informed about the problem. When I pressed him, he took the action to go get more information and call me back. He did!!! He promised to have the car worked on the next morning. The next day I learned that my brand new car had a factory defect and requires engine replacement. We still (three weeks later) do not know when the car will be repaired, and the dealership blames Acura for not giving me a new car. The service department is ineffective at keeping customers informed when things change. They didn't have any of the parts they needed to diagnose my problem. And there is no sense of urgency at the dealership to resolve problems when they occur.The Price Is Right
by bankofdad on 01/02/2008Negotiated a new TL over the telephone with Bryan. We came to pick up car on a Saturday at noon. Dealer let me select from 16 cars in my color choice and added five Acura accessories (body side moldings, trunk spoiler, mudflaps, etc)… while we waited. Finance & Insurance person was straightforward with paperwork and offered extras but was not pushy (we did not buy any extras.) We left dealership with our car and all accessories installed a few hours later. If you know what you want, have done your homework, this is the place to buy.Great Service
by dms9 on 12/08/2007I have had (too many) problems with my 2007 MDX. However, the dealer has been fantastic, especially Jayson (am I allowed to use names?). He has been great to deal with and went the extra mile to try and find out what bizzare problem was… actually wrong with my MDX. I had a free loaner car from them, he kept me informed and I am hopeful the problem is fixed. One of the repairs required approval from and Acura area manager because it was apparantly so unusual (distrorted windsheild), he took care of everything. I didn't have to fight with Acura or even deal with them. I know Pohanka is a volume dealer, but they have really taken care of me and I highly recommend them.A Pleasant buying experience
by dkim1 on 10/29/2007I purchased my 2007 MDX from someone who happened to be covering for the guy I was negotiating with online for weeks. Hillary was very pleasant to deal with and she made sure that I understood each step of the car buying process as well as… various options on the vehicle. She even took time to remove the decals and personal items I had left in my trade in vehicle and place them exactly where they had been on my previous vehicle. When I was considering side step option, she actually showed me why it would not be best for my kids to get the bulky and more expensive option and convinced me to get the less expensive side steps. She followed up with a phone call a week later to make sure that everything was okay with my vehicle and when I needed an urgent service on the vehicle, she took care of the service appointment right away. I just wish the service department was half as good as the sales.service advisor lacks knowlege and lies.
by dkim1 on 10/29/2007I had persistent loud popping sounds coming from the speakers upon turning on the ignition and left the vehicle with the dealer three times before it was fixed. But it wasn't because of the service adviser that the problem is now taken… care of but it was because I had someone else check it out upon picking up my vehicle for the third time and that person actually found a technical service bulletin for my complaints. First time I went to have the vehicle checked, the service adviser named Tom stated that there is probably nothing they can do since it is caused by newly formulated gasoline containing ethanol. He wasn't able to explain why then it was only happening to my vehicle. Of course the vehicle came back with "unable to reproduce customer's complaints etc..." He then told me that it happens with new vehicle and it should be okay after about 5000 miles. I took my vehicle back around 4900 miles with the same complaint plus defective real time navigation unit. The navigation unit was reset. But they still couldn't reproduce my complaints until the second day . Then the same service adviser told me that it is normal and he was able to reproduce on two other MDXs in the lot. He went onto say that it was because the fluids in the engine being pushed up and is making the sounds and is considered normal. When I went to pick up the vehicle, I was able to reproduce the loud popping sounds and went to another service advisor who had a service technician check the complaint. The technician acknowledged the problem but wasn't sure what the cause was. He told me to sit tight for 5 minutes so that he can look up the Acura website for a technical service bulletin (TSB). He returned with a TSB on my complaint which required a software update but needed my vehicle for few hours. The popping sounds are gone but it took me three trips and my persistence to finally have the problem fixed. Had the service advisor bothered to look up the Acura website on my first trip, he would have found the TSB and prevented unnecessary 2nd and 3rd trip to the dealer.Great experience!

There was no haggling. The price he told us was his… final and best price was very fair and we left feeling like we got a good deal. In addition, he was very knowledgable and pleasant. He answered all questions and sold us a great car.2013 MDX

I received a friendly call from Taslema who was very knowledgeable and attentive… to all my wants and specifications. She was very upfront with all pricing and worked tirelessly with her sales managers to get as close to my pricing as possible. My experience with Pohanka Acura and especially with Taslema was great and most importantly stress-free. I would definitely recommend all my family and friends. by junk_pohanka on 12/24/2010updated 04/27/2025I came for a wheel lock and to change the flat tire to Spare, which doesnot take 15 minutes outside dealer. After one hour they took my SUV inside there they took almost one and half hour. Once I come out I experienced a issue with the… vehicle which used to run fine. I have noticed similar kind of issues with this dealer particularly when ever I come for a oil change. Some times they give wrong advises with out knowing I have replaced the brakes , all Oils. When I asked to prove they just say Ignore it. One time they broke or replaced the broken mount .There are several times it happened to me and I stopped going to Pohanka Acura service becuase they made lose thousands fo dollors in repairing. It was running nice and I used outside dealers like Sears, Other Honda Mechanic, It was running without any issues. Now when I came for to change to spare tire, Its a clear indication they damaged my vehicle. They lost a customer who has planned to buy ZDX or MDX. I am going to Acura every week and collecting the experiences from the customers and I am going to take legal action Once I gather another five customers who has the same experience with them.Pohanka Acura
