Purchase of a 2014 Touareg and 2017 Alltrack
by RobbieD17 on 05/01/2017My sales and delivery experience with Bob Derby of Lindsay Volkswagen has been superb. In March, Lindsay offered a VW certified, 2014 Touareg for sale. Bob met my wife and me at the agreed time and explained all the things VW had done to… recondition the car. After a test drive, we began the sales process. Having obtained financing in advance, I had something to compare to the loans the dealership could offer. The price and the financing I received were fair and competitive. When we retrieved the Touareg the following day, Bob was there to personally assure we were satisfied with our purchase and that all our questions about the vehicle had been answered. Then, he kept in touch with us after the sale. We were so impressed with Bob’s approach that we returned to Lindsay a few weeks later to purchase a new 2017 VW Golf Alltrack for my wife. Once again, Bob did his utmost to make the buying experience a pleasant one. My wife greatly appreciated the time he took to teach her how to operate all the new technology the Alltrack offers. We needed to surrender our beloved Golf TDI and came in to figure out some possible options. Bob… helped us to explore, navigate, and test drive a wide selection lot of vehicles. by SteveAndrew on 04/11/2017I ordered a specific car in November from another dealership. In March, when the car was arriving, Lindsay traded for it because they saw my customer information attached to the car and figured it was an easy sale. When the original dealer… tried to get the car back for me, Lindsay lied to them and to VW of America by saying they had a buyer lined up (again, because my name and contact info was attached to the order). Once the car arrived at Lindsay, they refused to honor the price I negotiated with the original dealer. They planned to charge me thousands more than the negotiated price, because they knew that they had the one car I wanted. If Lindsay does not want to honor the price quote, they should trade the car back to the original dealership and let them sell the car for the negotiated price. That would be in the best interest of a loyal VW customer. Instead, the car I ordered and waited four months for is held hostage on their lot. They refuse to trade the car back to the original owner. They refuse to honor the negotiated price. And there is no other buyer lined up because the car is still advertised on their website. You cannot trust anything coming out of Lindsay VW.Very disappointed at the distortion of truth. I am compelled to provide an accurate account: Another dealer contacted Lindsay about trading inventory for one of our cars. Lindsay agreed and selected a car back from said dealer. Lindsay would not have had visibility to this car if it were marked as a sold order (in addition the other dealer would not have offered it to Lindsay if it was marked as a sold order). Dealers have absolutely no way of knowing anything about another dealers customers or orders; there is no way Lindsay could have seen the “customer information attached” to any car (customers would not appreciate their personal information being shared). Lindsay proceeded to deliver this car to one of our happy customers. We are very sorry that the other dealer mishandled this customer’s order. Great service and buying experience
by thatisall55 on 03/31/2017I was quite pleased with the experience buying a new car at Lindsay Volkswagen. Bob Derby was the primary salesperson, and he was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, friendly, super responsive. He went out of his way repeatedly to make sure… that I got the exact car I wanted, at a good price, and when I needed it. He worked with me to get as much of the paperwork done ahead of time as possible so that I didn't have to spend four hours there going through the purchase process. I can't recommend him highly enough. The rest of the team there was also top notch and very friendly and professional. If you are looking for a new Volkswagen, go to Lindsay in Dulles. by JoshuaR on 03/18/2017I have been looking to get a new vehicle for some time now because I have been getting tired of riding around in by beaters. I owned a 2005 VW Jetta with about 200,000 miles and a 1996 GMC Sonoma with 170,000 before coming here and I'm very… happy that I did. When I showed up to the dealership I was greeted by Bob Derby and we ended up taking a test drive in a 2014 VW Jetta SE and I was very happy with it, but I wanted to consider all of my options. I took the piece of paper that he gave me with the price along with the features that the car had and went to the Mini Cooper, Honda, and the Nissan dealership and they had nothing that had the same or comparable features for the same price without having to buy a car that had 30,000-40,000 more miles on it along with not having a certified warranty. After getting my loan approved they had asked if they could try to beat it. My loan was going to be 5% APR which I was happy with, but they got me down to 2.49%. Along with getting me a better loan I showed up late in the day so they stayed past closing time with me so I would not have to come back another day. Overall I'd say that I had a very good experience and when the time comes to get another vehicle I'd be happy to come back to Lindsay's VW. Big thanks to Bob Derby and Larry Schiro.New Car

I bought a 2017 VW Golf R in Lapiz Blue. I did all my homework, read all the articles, and… watched all the videos I could find. But please don't stop there, you also need to read reviews on sales representatives. Bob Derby's reviews are stellar. However after test driving the CC and all ready to sign the paperwork, I noticed the VW Tiguan. I asked Bob Derby are VW sales rep if he mind me… test driving that vehicle. Me and my girlfriend decided we wanted the Tiguan over the CC. Both are vehicles were great. What I like the most about buying my vehicle was Bob Derby the sales rep. Not pushy at all very relaxed and honest about certain things on both vehicles. He stayed well after closing to close our deal. We really enjoyed getting to know Bob Derby, Bob Derby was recommended to us from my ex wife of all people. Props to the Ex Wife for her recommendation of Bob Derby.Great car buying experience

My wife and I set out to purchase our daughter her first car and until we reached Bob and the team at Lindsay it was a horrible experience. From the minute we were greeted by Bob we immediately felt… at ease. He listened to our needs and there were no games...a trust was built. There was total transparency...straight forward pricing with no last minute surprises. The entire process was quick and painless - the dealership made the process easy. by Mike_vw on 07/30/2016I purchased a 2016 Jetta 1.8T Sport 5 speed from Lindsay VW in Sterling, Va. This was a great experience and the best price I've found after checking with 5 other dealers. My wife purchased a Tiguan from them the week before and we made… the 3 hr road trip back down to buy my Jetta. Worth the time and the prices they have listed straight on their website are better than another VW dealer you'll find. The customer service is the best I've experienced at a dealership, new or used. The prices are straight forward and they do not negotiate off the posted price "Which is on their website", so going in to try to get the price reduced isn't going to happen. This process is fair and doesn't waste your time haggling or being jerked around. I've seen a recent Negative comment about this dealership saying they were "quoted" a lower price elsewhere. Of course they never said the other dealerships name or their price or the model vehicle they were talking about....blah blah, most likely a bogus review trying to slander this dealership by another VW dealer who will not drop their prices to compete with Lindsay Volkswagen. Go to this dealerships website and there you will see the price, pretty simple. You won't be jerked around with a "E-Price" that turns into a email change of unanswered questions just trying to get you to drive into a dealership to get the actual price... waste of time having to physical drive to a dealer just for a price. Go to their website and you will see the price and realize they have the best prices and they are a wholesaler who deals with a much higher volume than any-other dealer I've seen. I will be buying my next Volkswagen from them without a doubt.Just as easy as possible

We received the offer after a few minutes and were agreed after little talk. We sat down and… did the paperwork, and walked away with a nice Car and a happy smile. all in about 2 Hours. We just bought our second pre-owned VW from Simon, since we had such a great buying experience with the first one. Simon is extremely helpful and… knowledgeable, and he never tries to sell us something we don't need. As a woman I've had trouble dealing with salespeople at other car dealers in the past, but Simon (and the rest of the VW staff) was genuinely interested in what I had to say. He listened to all my concerns and found the perfect car for me. He was very accommodating, and never rushed me in making my decision to purchase the car. He also walked me through each and every element of the car, showing me that every inch of the interior and exterior was in good condition. After I decided to purchase the car, he showed me how to use all the cool features, and even helped me hook up my phone to the handsfree Bluetooth system. A lot of other dealerships won't do that, they'll just send you out on the open road. They care a lot about keeping good relationships with their customers, and we've even got special deals because we've been working with them for so long. Having traveled and lived in many locations around the US, I have to say this to be the best VW dealership I have had a relationship with! The staff goes out of their way to make you feel part… of the family. This past week, I bought a car there and my salesman did not pressure me, rather he showed me the great features and how fun it would be to drive the Sportswagon. Thanks Clyde! I would also like to add that the service department corrected a small issue and they could not have been more professional and caring. I had the pleasure of meeting Simon Chu who was by far the most knowledgeable salesperson I met over the course of my car buying… process. by h3adm3at on 05/23/2016I recently decided to check in at Lindsay VW on my multi-stop research expedition for a used car. I did all my homework and narrowed down my choice to 4 completely different makes/models, one of which was a VW GTI. Alfonso Monteverde… greeted me at the door with a handshake and offered my wife and me a soft drink. Alfonso talked me out of more expensive models that were beyond what I really would have wanted to pay for, and helped me find the right car. Alfonso clearly understands the business, and the negative results inherent in being pushy and upselling. He even took me to the service department to ask straightforward maintenance questions to the people who work with these vehicles every day. Turns out that almost everyone I spoke with also owns a GTI, and have been repeat owners. I left the dealership that day with a brand new GTI for the budget I set myself on a used one, and find myself driving one of the most fun vehicles I've ever owned. I have since been contacted by Alfonso to ensure I am still happy with my purchase decision and my experience at Lindsay VW, and as I told Alfonso, I couldn't be more satisfied. Thanks!
