  • Troy Johnson is great sales person

We purchased a 2013 Ford Fusion for our 16 year old son. Our initial sales person was Troy Johnson and he was fantastic. Straight forward, respectful, knowledgeable, nice and had a fun personality. We would have preferred to work only with him, however his Manager stepped in and took over the deal. His approach was much more typical, and we felt we were being "handled". He ended up promising to fix a small cosmetic detail on the car that didn't make it to the Due Bill, and it was difficult to negotiate to have it done. We are happy with the car, and were delighted with Troy, but not so much his Manager.

  • 5 stars for salesperson Katie, mixed finance experience

4 out of 5 starsby susanwright on 06/20/2015

I was in the market for a used Toyota or Mazda, <60k miles, 2010 or newer. I browsed cars online using the Amex service, researched the best options for me with consumer reports, and saw that this dealership had several Priuses and Corollas in my price range. Katie Wright responded to my web inquiry, sent me her cell number, and was extremely responsive via text and email. She pulled the carfax reports for vehicles I flagged, and took the initiative to eliminate from my list cars with multiple owners, ones that had been rentals, and ones that had accidents. She did this before I arrived, with one day's notice. She narrowed it down to one Corolla and one Prius on their lot, and while test driving a Prius she took me to see a few other cars on lots in the Pierre family. Katie was knowledgeable about the Prius and Corolla, even though this is a Ford dealership. She shared details about the battery design and replacement costs, insurance costs, myths about car buying, etc. She assured me that I was asking all the right questions and seemed very frank, thoughtful, and honest. She let me sit in the back seat to test it out and drove me around like a chauffeur! She asked nice questions about my job and family and was kind. I would recommend her to anyone. On the finance side, the sales manager Nate promoted their transparency. He made it clear that there was absolutely no wiggle room on the "internet special price." And I got no offers of any perks save a car wash-- not an offer for an extra key (it only had one, sadly) or car mats-- nothing. They did pull the comps for me-- cars in the area with similar specs-- and the car was the cheapest in the area by $2k. So I didn't have to run around from one dealership to another. Who knows if the comp cars had exactly the same specs or history, but even after I came home and did some more research I felt okay about my purchase price. I also got good info on the warranty remaining on the vehicle. The carfax value I was shown was $19k+ and they claimed this car was being sold $4k below blue book value. But the Kelly blue book and Edmunds values are lower than that, not sure why there is such a big disparity. Since the "sale" price at which I purchased the car is slightly better than to the lower blue book values, so I feel ok still. Nate claimed to run my numbers with the worst case scenario for my credit at a theoretical 4% interest rate, but when they actually ran my credit and offered a 3.99% interest rate, the payments went down even further. Shawn (see below) said Nate had used an 8% interest rate to run preliminary estimates. Did I mishear? Not sure what happened there. My last issue is with the finance person Shawn. i put 60% down on the vehicle and had a near perfect credit score, but he only offered me a 3.99% interest rate. Changing that to 2.99% would only change my payment by $5 a month so I didn't haggle. But this is my fault for not thinking ahead to get preapproved through a credit union or pushing back harder. Anyone else in the same situation could always refinance later. On average, I'd give them 4.5 stars. Katie was really the person who made my day.

  • Much better experience this time.

5 out of 5 starsby jephrie on 06/05/2015

This was my second visit to Pierre Ford. I was reluctant as my first experience was horrible as we went back and forth for hours and the entire process was nearly 4-5 hours. However, they had a rare car I was looking for and I thought I would give it another try. I must say, first of all, they remembered me, which surprised me, secondly they told me that I would be out of the dealership within 2 hours. Outside the test drive, they made it happen and without going back and forth negotiating. to say the least, my husband and I were impressed. I would recommend Pierre Ford based on my last experience. Thanks!

  • Very unpleasant sales experience

2.5 out of 5 starsby auntydiluvian on 09/13/2010

This location was the least pleasant of all the dealerships I went to on my test drive. They didn't have the vehicle I was looking for in stock, which was surprising because it was a common choice and I wasn't picky about options, just wanted to test drive. They tried to direct me to other vehicles repeatedly, in spite of my insistance on my original choice. They then called their other location to see if they had one, and had someone drive me there (all the way to Lynnwood), where they found out they had made a mistake and they didn't actually have it in stock. All in all it took me the better part of 2 hours to not get to test drive the car I was looking for. The salesstaff passed me between one another throughout the process, shuffling me off to more and more junior staff as they realized they wouldn't be making a sale immediately. And the head salesguy here is an absolutely classic horrible car salesman stereotype, he lied to me about trivialities, smiling broadly, before passing me off to a more junior staffer.

  • BEWARE: Dishonest Sellers who "Bait and Switch"

    2 out of 5 starsby herman15 on 08/28/2010

I spoke with salesman Ramon 3 times this week, each time confirming that we wanted a certain Ford model, with 2-3 features, at a specific price (flexible about color and other features). Ramon claimed he checked with the owner and assured me this would work. He called back several times for more details. We made a purchase appt for Sunday but went in a day early. We called before we left home and Ramon again assured us that if we got there within the hour, the deal worked at the price we wanted. SURPRISE: the deal was no longer available after we arrived at the dealership 30 minutes after our conversation. There were dozens of excuses, but in the end it was simply a "Bait and Switch," which wasted 2 hours of our day. He had more expensive cars, and cars with less features, but not the car we were promised. Ramon and this dealership are untrustworthy -- BEWARE! They are also [violative content deleted] who stole my precious time.
  • Going up Hill

On the contrary to the previous review, I love this dealership. Though I cannot argue at the outdated showroom, you must remember the dealership has been around in Lake City since the 1940's. My great grandfather purchased cars from them when the dealership is where service is. I went in to Bill Pierre to buy a Ranger, new or used I was not concerned as long as it was manual and still under the Ford Warranty. I can understand why going to a dealership can be frustrating, but the thing people forget is they are there to sell. The only job a salesman has, no matter where you go, is to sell you on the product. I don't yell at the Sprint guy when I go to Best Buy when he asks how I like my phone and if its time for an upgrade. I went into his store, maybe just looking, but he only gets paid if he sells. So remember that when you go to a dealership, be nice to the salesman and in turn they will treat you the same way. The worse you are, the more they will bounce you around to other salesman and drag things out, Anyways, back to my Ranger. The post above me says lack of inventory, ha! Not only did they show me 3 Ranger's that I liked, my salesman said "Why don't we check out our other Ford store to make sure there isn't anything else you like." Kosal (my salesman) drove me to [another of their dealerships], where he showed me there used trucks and New. I ended up picking the one from Pierre, but I could not believe the level of service as far as driving me to another store they owned, to make sure I found the right Ranger. Bill Pierre has over four pre owned car lots, a Chevy Store, two Ford Stores, and now with Dodge closed, they made that another Ford lot. So saying lack of inventory is just someone griping. Now as far as offering me another vehicle and trying to sell it to me, yes, they did do that. But that happens everywhere you go. The grocery store has a zillion types of 1 soup. Go to the movies, 5 sizes of popcorn, when you order one, they offer you the larger bag with a soda and you save a dollar. Do you walk out the door on the movie theater because they offered you a different product? When you buy an Ipod, they will offer you a larger harddrive for more music, do you walk out the door on the Mac Salesman? No. The only place it's not okay to offer alternatives is a car lot. Get over yourself please. Another thing I liked about the Pierre's, is it is the only business I have spent money at then actually appreciated my business. They have called me on my birthday and other random times to make sure I am happy. Kosal personally picked up my license plate for me. But, I can understand why phone calls from a car dealership drives people up the wall.
  • Definately sliding down hill...

I have had several Ford's services with this dealer that I had bought other places, including some relatively major body work after an accident several years ago, some extenisve warrenty work on one car (transmission) and somewhat minor warrenty work on our current car (brakes). I have had nothing but pleasent experiences with their service and parts people. About 10 years ago my wife and I needed a reliable cheap car, so I went and bought an Escort from them It was a relatively pleasant experience, picked out a car from their stock, didn't need to haggle too much to get a price I though was fair and we got in and out in about 3 hours. Three years ago, we went back after our second child for a bigger car. The second expereince was much different from the first. I had them quote me a price on a vehicle on the internet, but when I went to pick it up they tried to sell me a different car. When we started for the door, the manager got involved and they did scramble and found us another car, actually an upgraded model, at the quoted price. But it took forever to close the deal. My wife and I were at the dealer for something like 6 hours waiting around, at it was mid week during they day and we had scheduled the appointment in advance. Plus their showroom and waiting areas are pretty dirty and dingy compared to other dealers I've dealt with, so it was not really a pleasant wait, but in the end we got our car and I will say I was pleased with the follow up from the dealer after the sale. About a year ago, my father passed away. I had refered him to this dealer. He had leased a new vehicle and he passed with about 1 year left on the contract. My mother wanted to return the car She was aware of the financial ramifications of turning it back in and was prepared for it, but she was not at all prepared for the absolutely horrid treatment she received from Bill Peirre Ford, at just about every level. When she called to find out what to do, they kept saying to call the finance company. The finance company said to just take it to the dealer...and back and forth. They were extremely rude to her when she finally got it delivered to them. Recently salepeople from this dealer have been basically harassing me on the phone, trying to get me to trade in my current car. It is getting particularly irritating and I am pretty sure I am now done with these guys.
  • Predatory, barbaric and the worst dealer I ever know

1 out of 5 starsby uncleshen on 08/02/2007

This is a notorious dealer in seattle area. Every time I told my story 4 years ago to somebody, he/she would tell me some other horrific experience he/she had or heard from somebody else. Two months ago when I have to go there to cancel the extended warrantee on my old truck, I brought my big physique friend with me in fear of being attacked again. In Oct. 2003 I bought a truck and traded in my vehicle there. As part of the purchasing deal, they would take care of the title problem(which I lost) on my traded-in vehicle. A week later, they asked to to drop by to sign some documents regarding the title. When I got there, they demanded that I took my traded-in vehicle back becasue they had encountered some difficulities in getting the title issue straight. I naturally refused becuase it was part of the purchasing deal. They told me I couldn't leave the facility until I took it back. After some pushing and shovelling, I managed to get out the gate and opened the door of my truck. One of their manager tried the grab the key out of my truck, but I was too quick for him to succeed. Suddenly I was surrounded by four vehicles, three of them rushing in from different directions. After about 15 min. of intimidation, I called 911 for help. Before the 911 respondant arriving, one of the truck in front of me pulled out (later I learned that the guy driving the truck was a contract of theirs and not aware what was going on). I took the chance and drove to the exit. A half dozen of their employees and that same manager punched my truck and its windows as I drove off. One even drove a truck and chased me for a good mile or two. On my way home, I was shaking while driving. That night a cop knocked at my door. The dealer reported to police that they saw me driving extremely dangerously and almost had a collusion with someone else. I explained to the policeman what had happened. A month later I received a letter from a lawyer representing the dealer, threatening taking me to court. I responded with a certified letter in which I stated that I would be glad to render my serve to obtain the title for the dealer if they would offer me $500, as well as the reasons that I was not responsible. I never heared anything from them since. I didn't set my foot there again until 2 months ago when I had to cancel the extended warrantee. I got my truck service at another Ford dealer. I am done with the Ford brand for good. When I asked a Honda dealer manager what I needed to cancel my extended warratee, he told me not to give the original warrantee documents to the Bill Pierre, just the copies. He never had heard my story above yet, so I asked him why. He called them "shady" people.
  • Excellent Customer Service & Experience

I went into the Dealership on an Internet promotion posted on thier website on February 14, 2012, and had an excellent experience. Let me first start off by saying I was not in the best of moods when I walked onto the lot, and was very pleased with the excellent customer service that I recieved. I worked with two employees, Matt Winthal and Eric Bartles, who did a very good job at putting up with my ridiculous comments and bad attitude. I felt that their interaction with me was excellent and that as a first time, inexperinced buyer was very well taken care of. I purchased a 2008 Mercury Milan, and including a few services that I have recieved since then; an interior stain removal, oil change & such; I couldn't be more happy. I highly recommend these two employees at this dealership.
  • Coerced an elderly 89 year old and husband - depletes savings

Bill Pierre Ford sales tactics, misrepresentation, deceit, confusion and pressure took advantage of my almost 89 year old mother and her husband. They confused and pressured them into signing a sales agreement on March 8, 2013 to purchase a 2011 Ford Fusion with 73,000 miles for over $30,000. (The vehicle is worth around $9,500 to $12,000.) They pressured them into depleting their saving account completely in a form of a bank money order, (not personal check) for $12,000; financing the remaining $18,000+ though a credit union. They are on a limited income and will cause them financial hardship. Once they got home and saw what they had been deceived and coerced to signed, they were horrified. We contacted the credit union, explained the situation and they were horrified as well. They would decline the loan if it comes through. Attempts to stop the down deposit of the deposit only resulted in a 30-90 day hold. We contacted the manager at Bill Pierre Ford on March 11, 2013 and attempted to resolve this issue amicably with the sales manager at; they refuse to rescind the contract and will exercise the contract to the full extent. After all, they have the $12,000 deposit and they say there is nothing we can do. We explained that the financing will fall through the Credit Union, as named in the contract. They said they will find other means of financing the vehicle and force them pay for the car or seek legal action. They further stated they are used to dealing with this type of situations and do not care what legal actions or other avenues we take. My mother is almost 89 years old and her husband has memory issues and can be easily confused and coerced into signing contracts they do not want. This has cause unneeded stress and strife in their lives and could cause further health issues as well financial. There is documentation for all this.

The dealership made me wait a long time and tried to soften me up to pay more. When it came time to fulfill their commitment of a tank of gas, they switched and said they were willing to give me a free oil change instead. This place doesn't care about customer service.

I was looking for Explorer Limited in a certain color with certain equipment. I filled out several different request on different web sites and kept getting the same uninterested templates back with the wrong Explorer. I got a call from Kyle B. about a day later. He sent me all the information to my email and quoted me his best price before it ever came in. He actually knew what I was looking for and he had it ready for us when we showed up. This is the way buying a car should be, no back and forth, no BS. I came in, drove and left in about 70 minutes. I see Kyle has a few reviews online and I can see why. Very easy experience.

They made our purchase enjoyable and hassle free. The Finance Department was very prompt, courteous and efficient. We would highly recommend Bill Pierre Ford for your next vehicle purchase. Oh, one other thing, do yourself a favor and ask for James G. He is hard working, honest and passionate about meeting his customers needs. If James isn't available, ask for Shane H. He cares equally about his customers. Jim and Ann O'Neil-Seattle

If you know what you're looking for and have done your homework (online car research), the process could be straight forward. I purchased a pre-owned German car in fair condition with fair mileage. I paid exactly what the online price was, couldn't negotiate with them at all (may be I wasn't very pushy about it). In the end I paid the average price according to Edmunds. The car is good so far. There were few minor wear and tear in the interior, which they tried to clean up after I complained. The salesperson drove me to the dealership when I was ready to make the purchase.

I bought a 2010 Mustang from Harris Ford in March of 2010, and soon realized that the Focus was the car for me. I attempted to "trade down" into a Focus at Bill Pierre Ford in October, 2010. I picked out a black 2010 Focus SE and it was perfect. The terms were negotiated; I signed the contract and drove away thinking everything was fine. A week later, Bill Pierre Ford called me back and said that the financing fell through. I asked them why they could not lock in the financing before getting my hopes up. Turns out they made me sign a vehicle return agreement, which said if the deal fell through, I'd have to bring the car back. I signed the VRA because the dealer told me not to worry, that there would be no problem, that they couldn't not see one of their lenders picking up the contract. Turns out that not one of Bill Pierre's lenders wanted to finance the Focus, because the value of the Focus is less than the value of the Mustang. So I had to bring back my Focus and get my Mustang back, gas guzzler, Ford dealer Seattle, dishonest, inept. They stripped off the stuff they put on my Mustang, since they had already prepped it for resale. Bill Pierre Ford was probably just as outraged as I was that not one of twenty lenders would finance a $14,000 car after having been approved a few months earlier for a $28,000 car. I paid over $7,500 in that few months to bring my payoff down, I put a small down payment on the table and my signature, a solid, recession-proof job for over two years, eight verifiable references, $2,250 a month, no credit cards, no other debts, cheap rent, and STILL they could not find one of their lenders to pick up a $400 a month payment on that income. Bill Pierre Ford did the exact same thing again in February, 2011. As a result of both attempts to get out of my Mustang, my FICO (credit) score went from a 688 to a 590 because of all the inquiries. A lot of people don't believe it, but I've gotten the letters that say the only reason for the denial of credit was because of excessive inquiries. Five points per hit, and Bill Pierre Ford (and also Sound Ford and Evergreen Ford), riddled my credit report with enough hard pulls to ensure I can't get any credit until at least 2014. As a result of what Ford dealers have done, and in particular, Bill Pierre Ford, a Ford dealer in Seattle, Washington, I will never set foot on a new car lot again unless I have all the cash in hand to pay for the car, and even then chances are I will buy used. It's just too embarrassing to wait for hours, getting my hopes up, a lot of hand shaking, congratulations, and then the Ford dealers rip the rug right out from under me. I advised them if they did not make the deal work--if they could not hold up their end, however they managed to do it--I would be all over the Internet spreading my story to tell others the treatment I received at Bill Pierre Ford in Seattle. It would have simply been better for them if they would have made up the difference in the down payment to make the deal work, to get one of their lenders to say yes, rather than let a purpose-driven guy like me lose on the Internet. I'm single, and I've got a lot of time on my hands when I get shafted, especially by shady car dealers like Bill Pierre Ford, in Seattle, Washington. All I wanted was to be a loyal Ford customer driving a new Ford Focus, and not a Mustang, which tends to draw a lot of attention from the police and middle fingers from other drivers, not to mention a lot of cash at the gas pumps. I had my reasons for wanting to trade down, and after a lot of promises, I was sent home again in the car I did not want. If I was the manager of Bill Pierre Ford, a Ford dealer in Seattle, Washington, I would have dipped into my own pocket to complete the sale and make one of my lenders say yes, rather than let a guy like me loose with a terrible grudge. They would have gotten a check back from the lender for like $28,000 a few days later. I hope one of the executives at Ford Corporate gets wind of my story, because I won't stop posting about what they did. It is the only consolation I can get after being ripped off of the exact car I wanted, especially when I put money on the table and it was Bill Pierre Ford who reneged. Also, Evergreen Ford, a Ford dealer in Issaquah, Washington, did the same thing to me: get my hopes up, assure me of a done deal, and then pull the rug out from under me. All these dealers and lenders making sure that I don’t get my Focus because to them it doesn’t have enough value to make them happy. Bill Pierre Ford does not want me telling you this because they don’t want to lose a sale. If you have a credit score of 700 or above, then chances are you will not have to go through what I did. I had a 688 score before Bill Pierre Ford and other Ford dealers turned my credit beacon into Swiss cheese. My reports should give Bill Pierre Ford enough incentive not to lie to their customers, to be more up front with them. I seriously doubt now that they will do the conditional sale again, because it does not feel good to be lied to, like I was lied to by them. The finance department is to blame, and it appears they do not know their own business well enough to handle a once-loyal customer. So what Ford dealers are doing is putting their needs above the customers, and this is what happens when it backfires on them, and they deserve it. The reneging of deals, the “spot delivery” or whatever they call it, is not a proper way to do business. I cannot comment on General Motors, Kia, Dodge, or any other car maker, because they were always up front with me before letting me sign the papers and letting me drive my new car home, only to have to worry if the financing will receive final approval. The conditional sale is quite a disturbing trend I have experienced with Ford dealers, and one that has soured me on the whole new-car buying experience. I've had more than enough humiliation to last a lifetime. Now, it's my turn.

We contacted your dealership hours before arriving with our specific interests (Focus or Fiesta, Used or New, mileage <50,000, price <$17K, automatic trans. preferred). We drove a Fiesta and, after a LONG wait, were told the car we were interested in was several thousand over our top price. After another long wait, we were shown a spec sheet for ONE vehicle that fit our needs and told we needed to buy it to see it. This process took an hour and a half. Our needs were clear, our time was valuable, your tactics were meant to be intimidating. We wanted to buy an American car and we wanted to buy a Ford. We drove home in our new Accent last night not because we wanted it so much more than what you had to offer, but because the thought of having to deal with any number of you for any number of hours to get the information I got in 10 minutes of Internet searching was too excruciating. Below is a list of vehicles you are the contact for that we might have purchased from you if your practices were not so offensive: 3FADP4EJ0CM140918 3FADP4EJ7CM162429 3FADP4EJ3CM151251 3FADP4AJ8CM180864

My wife and I purchased a 2011 Ford Edge Limited AWD from Bill Pierre Ford on Sunday, 12/04/2011. The vehicle is used with approximately 25,000 miles on it. The first thing the sales manager did was show us their invoice price. This invoice price showed they had paid $31,500 for the vehicle at the time it was traded in. The asking price for the vehicle was $36,995 and we were able to negotiate it down to $34,995 plus $8,000 for our trade in. We opted to purchase the extended 100,000 mile warranty for an additional $2,879.00. We left the lot feeling pretty good about the deal but when we got home and started doing some research we got a really bad taste in our mouth. When we were on the test drive we were told the vehicle was “fully loaded” and when I inquired about some of the features that I thought would be included in a “fully loaded” vehicle in this price range I was told that those items were not available in 2011. The items included the panoramic sunroof and keyless ignition. We were also told that there was a fully featured navigation system built in. When I went directly to Ford and looked up the features available for the 2011 Edge Limited I was shown several packages that were available including the sunroof, the keyless ignition and several others. I also discovered that we didn’t have the full-featured navigation system, but rather a “dumb” system that would provide you with turn-by-turn directions but wouldn’t handle route re-calculations. I was dismayed so I decided to dig a little further. I went to AutoTrader and did a search for the vehicle we had just purchased, and sure enough, it was still listed as available. The price it was listed for $31,877, a full $3,000 under what we had “negotiated” down to. At this point I made up my mind to go back to the dealer the next day and confront them. Why was the same exact car (I matched up the VINs) for sale at a mere $377 over their invoice price online. The sales manager claimed that he was not even aware they were advertising on AutoTrader but that they would match the price. I brought up the rest of the discrepancies that we discovered and his only excuse was that “fully loaded” can mean a lot of different things. The manager then told me that they don’t list anything on AutoTrader. He said that AutoTrader pulls from their inventory online and calculates what they (Auto Trader) thinks is a fair price. He said they had no control over it. This was after he had told me 15 minutes prior that he wasn’t aware they advertised on Auto Trader. This really sounded suspicious to me, but since they were going to match the price, I decided to let it slide. The sales manager proceeded to ask me what he needed to do to make things right. I told him that I wanted the price matched, a second master key cut for the car, and I would like him to investigate if it was possible to add the navigation. He told me to come back on Wednesday and resign the paperwork and that he would investigate the navigation. I left feeling alright about the situation and was prepared to still give Bill Pierre Ford a positive review. Then Tuesday came. My wife and I headed into Bill Pierre Ford around 11am on Tuesday morning to resign the paperwork. A different sales manager (the one who had originally sold us the car) approached us and had heard the news. He said to wait for a moment and he would get everything taken care of. He came back about 10 minutes later and reiterated that they would match the price online and once again told me they had no control over the price was set by Auto Trader. He then told us that they needed to reduce the amount we were getting for our trade in. He said that he was very aggressive on the trade in pricing because he wanted to make sure the deal happened and he still had some profit room to work with. However, if he matched the price of the vehicle, he was going to lose money on the deal. I explained that I felt like I had been misled in several areas and that I wanted the price matched, the trade-in value maintained, and a second key but I would let the navigation go. He agreed (in a very short and irritated way) and left to go get the paperwork ready. While he was gone I went to Ford and did a search for Certified Pre-Owned inventory directly on Ford’s website. I found the exact vehicle listed on yourfordpco (Ford’s own site) listed for $31,877. This made me livid and after we signed the paperwork I decided to start asking around. I received confirmation from two other Ford dealers in the area that the dealer HAS to set the price on Auto Trader and that there is no way an “automatically calculated” price would ever be listed on Auto Trader. I also did some investigation into the extended warranty, and if I were to have bought it from Ford directory (rather than through the dealership), it would have cost $1,554 rather than the $2,879 we paid for it. The price we were given was supposedly the "Friends and Family" discount and they were using the last one they had available for the month. In closing, while they did honor the online price they lied to us at least 3 times, over charged for warranties and potentially are showing invalid “invoice” prices. Do yourself a favor and stay as far away from Bill Pierre as you possibly can. Learn from our mistakes.
