Exceptional Customer Service from the salesman to finance manager
by Lish0212 on 01/09/2017I was very impressed. I can't thank the people enough. Went in 3 weeks ago to see what I need to do to be able to get a reliable car to use since mine broke down. Wasn't expecting to be taking home a car but I did. Ryan was very helpful and… was very patient with me. He was very willing to find me what I need and just didn't sell me whatever car there is for me. To the finance manager Tim who closed the deal for me can't thank him enough! Good experience with sales/not so much with finance
by 2016Sonata on 09/19/2016We stopped in on a Friday around 4pm (dealership closes at 6) and ended up purchasing a new vehicle. Keith, our sales consultant, was great and did not seem to mind our purchase kept him there until 6:30. However, Nic in finance seemed… annoyed that he had to stay late so we could sign the paperwork. Despite the fact that we have purchased numerous cars before and were familiar with the process, it seemed as if we were an inconvenience to his upcoming weekend plans. He also rudely informed us that since we didn't live in Fond Du Lac, he wouldn't even bother to offer us the free oil change package that they typically offer on new car sales. While I understand that they may only offer it to local customers, I didn't appreciate the fact of him telling us it was an option and then rudely telling us we couldn't take advantage of it. Not sure I can recommend this dealership based on our experience with the finance department.2016Sonata - Thank you for sharing this information and we apologize for things that got in the way of you having a better experience. Outstanding Experience, Until We Met with Evan in Finance

Worked with us to find the right vehicle and did a dealer trade under a tight deadline and all was well until... Met with the finance manager Evan and the… sales contract was drawn up incorrectly. Granted we were the worst kind of buyer that comes into his office; educated, did not need to finance and not interested in all of the extended warranties and superfluous fluff that they make money on. When we told Evan the amount financed was incorrect he violently crumpled up the sales contract and threw it against the wall. Every touch of the keyboard when typing up the new contract was with a hearty and upset slap. He didn't even say have a good day or thank you when we left his office. Five stars for Keith, and minus three stars for Evan so his behavior and attitude takes it to two stars. Note to dealership management, please remove this cancer from your staff and customer satisfaction will go up.alchemist68- Thank you for sharing this information and we apologize for things that got in the way of you having a better experience. by deigirl on 07/19/2016First salesman admitted that I knew more about trucks than him, so he couldn't answer any of my questions. I had to call Ford with the VIN to get my questions answered. Then the detail department couldn't get the truck clean - they even… resorted to sending the truck into town to get cleaned because they couldn't get it done themselves. Upon the day of purchase, the engine and underbody hadn't been touched. Actually, I take that back - they sprayed the underbody coat OVER 2 INCHES OF MUD. So that's up to your interpretation if you want to call that "effort." Now the current situation I'm dealing with is this MyKey business and Van Horn's support to get the situation remedied. Newer Fords have "MyKey" which is safety restrictions programmed into the key. Yes, you can turn these restrictions off IF you have an "adminstrative key" for the vehicle. I didn't learn until after paperwork was signed and keys were turned over that they only had ONE KEY for the truck and it wasn't the admin key. So now, I CAN'T TURN MY RADIO UP OVER 45%, nor can I pass people on the interstate because my truck ENGINE SHUTS DOWN AT 75MPH!! Yes, I have made arrangments with a local Ford dealership to get the admin key made, but Van Horn has stopped returning my calls after I asked them to pay for it. It's $250. But I suppose, once they have your money, customer service isn't as important. So I just say GO BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE.deigirl - Thank you for sharing your information and again we apologize for things that got in the way of you having a better experience. Disappoint and bad experience
by Newcar2017 on 07/11/2016We started off with a great rapport with an online contact. Then it all went downhill from there once we arrived. We were greeted in parking lot by "hi have you been working with anyone?" No handshake, no how are you, no introduction by… name. We were brought inside and after a few road tests in different cars we decided on the one that fit our family needs. The salesperson, albeit smiley and personable, still had not given his name, I had to ask for it, didn't know the basics of the cars we were looking at (I had to show him where spare tire was located!!!) seemed overwhelmed, inexperienced and had too many customers at once. I'm assuming he's new and not been in the business long but I could be wrong. After 3 hours we decided to sleep on the offer and return the next day for the end of month expiration on the offer they gave us. Our sales person stayed in touch via text thankfully and we arrived at our scheduled time. Again he was busy and with more clients than us at the time. After a few more hours there with our daughter we thought we were all set, go into finance and realize they've billed out the wrong car. While I took partial blame for the confusion, what blew me away was the unprofessionalism of the finance manager who pretty much threw the paperwork in our salespersons face right in front of us!!!! Clearly he was angry that he had to redo everything but wow what an awkward position to put us in. They re-did the paperwork. We signed and went out to get into our new car. Upon inspecting the outside quickly we found paint defects all over the car. White spots in the top coat. I was told we could call and have that taken care of at a later time. We rushed to get home as we were at the dealership for almost another 3 hours two days in a row with a finicky baby. On the drive home we noticed A TON of issues. PDI sticker on windshield, glue from stickers on interior window, multiple stickers on rims, factory plastic still left on passenger seat, factory plastic on rear tailgate latch, factory plastic on rear tailgate lights over plate, factory plastic on rear seat levers!!!! I took those off myself but I mean wow. What a poor and rushed delivery!! They didn't even set our clock. I was assured after informing our sales person this would ALL be taken care of the following week. They came and got our car then close to end of day we were told they had to keep it overnight for the paint. Luckily they gave us a loaner so it wasn't an issue. The next day we are told its done and being delivered back. Well come to find out the paint was fixed but NONE of the interior issues had been touched! The inside didn't even look as though it has been touched in the TWO DAYS they had the car. I informed our salesperson one last time of this as I was exhausted about complaining, and I was told "I'm not able to look over the detailers shoulders to make sure they cover my notes" ummmm really???? You just took $2500 from us and an almost $300 a month car payment and you can't take 60 seconds to inspect the issues we discussed before the car leaves??? Unacceptable. After I spent 15 years in the car business back East, I'm appalled, and highly disappointed in the level of customer service we received. I will NEVER be back to this dealership, we will re lease another Hyundai at another dealer. Even if the price was better at this dealer I would drive out of my way to avoid going back. We were also planning on servicing our car there since my husband teaches close to there, but we will find a another dealer. Quite frankly the only positive experience we had at the dealership was your internet contact Kayla. She is very pleasant. Informative. Helpful and seems she enjoys what she's does. I did not mention the sales persons name as I'm sure they will know if they're able to read this. For the record, I've NEVER written a review like this and I've owned plenty of cars. Again being in the business I know how these surveys can negatively affect a dealer, but after trying to be nice and gave this dealership MULTIPLE chances to fix these small issues. They couldn't even do that and seemingly wiped their hands of me.Newcar2017 Our intention with every guest is to leave them with a warm comfortable feeling and hopefully they want to return to us for service and future business. It would be very understandable if we have lost that trust. Horrible
by Roximello on 06/30/2016this place has the worst service and costumer service. They sold us a used vehicle and we spent more getting it fixed by them than we did driving it. Then left with nothing and they could care left. I was there today for a different reason… and Erik in service department is the rudest ever. I wasn't even rude or nothing and he felt it was necessary to talk to me in that manner in front of my daughter. I asked for a manager and he didn't get one also went to reception and asked for a manager as they all stood in the corner laughing as if it was a joke. I've heard while in there about how they treat and sell you vehicles that are crap. How dare they take advantage of people! Beware of that DOC fee

Great leasing experience

I had leased my vehicle from another dealership and had called their sales manager, who never returned my call. I stopped at Van Horn, which is the closest dealership to my… home to begin my research on a new car to lease. I looked around the lot and narrowed my choice to. a Sonata SE or a Sonata Sport. I went in and met Keith a salesperson. He was extremely personable and very knowledgeable. When he said he had been at this dealership for 8 years I knew I had someone with experience which was important to me. He rode with me on both test drives and explained what features were similar and what was different. He made sure I had plenty of information on the vehicle, yet didn't pressure me. We talked about my lease and gave me his best offer and would genuinely like me to give this dealership my business. I had only come for a test drive, but an hour later was driving home in a new car. The dealership is clean and well laid out. Everyone I dealt with was friendly, knowledgeable, and made me feel that they wanted my business and would take good care of me and help me in any wat they could. Buyer beware
by tandem3 on 05/21/2016I was looking at 2007 Honda CRV for$12000. It was a nice vehicle and a mechanic agreed. I did notice the alignment was off and they said they said they would fix alignment if I purchased vehicle. That is nice but for an easy fix do that… before people drive it. This vehicle also has a mismatched tire and that is a no-no on all wheel drive vehicles because it makes drive train work harder. I dont think it is a good business model to try and slide things past customers. Management said most people don't care about these easy fixes? I believe this is why you pay a premium at a dealership.
