Fun to drive the dart
After comparing a lot of compact sedans, I settled for the 2.4L Dart mainly because it was the only car under 20K offering a 2.4L engine and an auto 6 speed. I was firstly delighted by the standard 8.5" touchscreen control. Absolute pleasure to control music, climate, nav without any distractions. The second thing that I found amazing was the interior cabin space. This C-class compact car almost goes head to head with a D-class sedan. The car has a ride handling that is zippy and fun even though a bit heavy (which is why I feel the mileage is not the best). I've driven 2 5-hr long trips on my Dart since I bought (last 2 months) and I found it to be absolutely delightful.
Dart SXT Manual
Seems like the professional reviews on this site and others find some way of knocking the Dart, but I don't see what they are talking about. I researched and shopped extensively (looked at the Veloster, Mazda3, etc.). The Dart, by far, was the best driving experience of any of those. Superb handling, good acceleration with the 2.4, quick braking, and it just feels solid. Interior is high quality and spacious, exterior is beautiful.

Great car for the money!
I was leasing a '13 Silverado, and it was costing me so much money in gas. I work at a Dodge dealership, and wasn't a big fan of the dart until I saw one with the Blacktop package. It adds the gloss black 18" rims, black mirrors and grille. I had one of our sales guys find me a black one with the 8.4" touchscreen, 500W Alpine system, 6 speed manual, and it looks awesome. The black on black looks so good on this car, and I've gotten tons of compliments on it from random people. Super fun to drive, decent amount of power for what you're paying. Handles great, and I'm averaging around 30MPG.
Great value!
Originally went to check out Chargers but came across the Dodge Dart GT and went for a test drive and totally enjoyed the Dart more!! Plus you got more for the money and a similar equipped Charger was closer to 40k then 30k! So I purchased and have about 2k on it and still enjoy driving it! Heated leather all the way to push button start for under 25k and looks great to boot and gets decent gas mileage!
2014 Dodge Dart SXT Blacktop - The True Sleeper
I bought this car as my first car at 20 years old (two years ago), 45,850 miles on the odometer for out the door price of $11,495. The Blacktop Black trim and details with glossy red paint LOOKS amazing. The first impression is a beautiful exterior that Dodge is known for with entering presenting plentiful of options with the infotainment stack as well as the cluster for climate control. The UConnect is great for presenting various options for sound as well as controlling how the sounds...sound. First impression made, I need this car. Upon owning this vehicle for over two years now, I can say all of what you see is what you'll continue to appreciate and enjoy. What you'll continue to fall in love with over and over is what you feel; the driving experience is amazing with the 2.4L NA engine. The chassis is amazing for a heavy 4D mid-sized sedan. The control is second to none, for the vehicles I've driven, around the whippy corners of northern Arizona and vistas of the valleys in Arizona. You won't dust anyone off the line like a GTI/Evo nor an obvious sports inspired vehicle like a Mustang/Camero but what this car brings is aspiration to those who aren't fiscally inclined to invest over $30,000 MSRP. The reliability of this vehicle leaves a BIIIIIT to imagine, within the purchase year I had to buy a new hi-tech battery (maintenance, it's whatever), front right strut assembly, full new set of tires (more maintenance, no big deal) and more axis/shock issues that cost around $900 outside of dealer shops. The second year brought another worn out set of tires (I don't drive aggressive, the stance and suspension lead to worn tires on the Darts), air cabin replacements (beyond simple maintenance) and then my HVAC system failed in JUNE... IN ARIZONA. The dealerships couldn't figure it out for less than $600 and it ended up being a simple wire near the dash that faulted the ambient temperature sensor to read -40 Fahrenheit. Beyond those issues I love the car but be aware that as those who shop used there may be further issues this 2nd year model Dart may have. In the end, I will hold onto this car as it's unique in comparison to your Corolla you see a thousand times a day, more powerful then many 4D mid sized sedans in the market and it's reliability is on par. [Update] It’s now the end of 2020, I still have this vehicle and besides the issues I listed above...it’s been good. Not great but good. Vehicle still starts up great, still getting good gas mileage and I still love to drive it. I did have to replace the tires (all four) twice more (so that’s 4 sets of tires in 5 years, where I bought them they’re covered under warranty but somehow this thing goes through tires!) and I’ve had two other batteries die before the two year mark (again, covered under warranty). With 109,000 miles on the dash a few things have came up, not with the drivetrain but it’s noticeable. At around 85,000 miles, whenever the engine is turned off sometimes the key fob will get stuck and you can’t take it out of the ignition. This is a known problem, it seems to be some trigger that doesn’t realize the car is in park releasing the teeth that locks the fob in the ignition. A few clicks of the gear lever will sometimes work, other times it’ll be removed immediately after shutting off the engine. It’s weird. Another thing, the UConnect won’t ALWAYS connect my phone automatically. This has been sporadically happening, again...can still drive the vehicle but this model year had a few issues with Bluetooth connection. Other than that, it’s been reliable and just regular maintenance. No REAL big issues *knock on wood, always*.
