The Dodge Hornet is an extra-small SUV that packs a particularly potent punch for a vehicle its size. Where other subcompact sport-utes might be lucky to exceed 150 horsepower, the Hornet makes a whopping 268 horsepower in base form. The Hornet is based on the same architecture that underpins the Alfa Romeo Tonale, and it inherits a similar plug-in hybrid drivetrain option pumping out 288 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque available in the new R/T model. Wanted a CUV for its practicality. I was coming out of a Mustang. I also wanted some performance. I was intrigued by the Hornet for that reason. I have also had a love for Alfa Romeo cars. The Hornet is based on the new Alfa Tonale. For all of those reasons, I was not a sheep & I checked it out for myself. I leaned toward the RT because of the incentives. They … totaled 10K. That brought the car down to around 34K. Much more manageable than the $44,620 sticker price. I am a car guy so I understand things outside of the shiny things that consumers are drawn towards. For example you get 4 Piston Brembro brake calipers & Koni shocks. Independent rear suspension. All season sport tires. You get either the GY Eagle GT or the Michelin Sport all seasons. You won't find them on a Hyundai or even the Toyota. You definitely need to take the time to learn the car. 3 Drive modes. Hybrid, E Save, & Electric. I've been getting around 33 miles of all electric range on a fully charged battery. The interior feels solid & refined. Seats were a big things for me. I will say that if you are a larger individual the bolsters might cut into your hips. (I am not, so no issue for me) Infotainment & standard safety features are amongst the best in class. Small trunk & weird handle to close the hatch. I love the exterior look. The blacktop package adds to that look. Blacked out badging along with blacked out mirror caps & trim. My main concern is overall reliability. I have had a few tech clichés with the security system & front end collision sensor. Waiting on 4th quarter software update to hopefully fix some of the tech gremlins. So far I am pleased with the vehicle. Check one out for yourself.

2024 Dodge Hornet R/T Plus 4dr SUV AWD (1.3L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric plug-in hybrid 6A)
We just got this sweet easy ride recently. I like the look of black with red trim. The idea of being a gas saver and battery is great. Were I live in Maine and use many miles! The time I get in it feels like my batmobile! I can set my own settings to my liking. Super comfortable seats and so easy to drive. The quiet is nice too. The quick pick up speed is so handy. I really love … this car and my dad always had dodge. The only thing I wish it had is defrost mirrors.
If your looking for a fast car this is not it, if your hoping for reliability this it definitely not it. I had mine for about a week before the hybrid system failed. they took it back to try and fix it but the power shot doesn't work still and after the up date it seems to drive worse, as far a stability and shifting gears. It is however comfortable, has a great wheel, looks good, great … cameras, big screen and seemed to handle really well before the update or fix the dealer did to fix the hybrid system

When i bought the Hornet, I thought it would be an great extra car for myself and my son. It's exceeded all expectations in drivability and is just plain fun to ride in. The technology in it is top notch. Battery charge has good mileage capacity. You can slowly charge the battery when driving also if it is out of juice. One area Dodge needs to improve, a larger gas tank capacity. … If you are on a road trip regionally, it's clear as day you will need to fill it up sooner than you expect. It's so far reliable and fun 5000 miles in.
