Best car I've ever owned. Period.
The 458 Italia is the last of its kind we'll ever see from Ferrari. Its naturally aspirated engine screams to the 9000 rpm redline with fury, but it is also a smooth pussycat when you want to drive at legal speeds. It is unbelievable how smooth they engineered this engine across the entire range from 1000 to 9000 rpm. The styling is a timeless classic, and the interior is comfortable for long journeys and a beautiful place to be, surrounded by hand-crafted Italian leather and great touch surfaces. I have used this car for track days and I could regularly out-lap much bigger and powerful machines. It is easy and intuitive to learn, if you are a skilled driver you will soon become one with the machine, and both track days and the occasional brisk drive up a mountain pass will become memorable experiences of a lifetime. Reliability has been 100% perfect, maintenance costs almost zero (just regular servicing). This car is a piece of automotive history, a jewel to keep for life. Owners of the 296GTB and of the F8 have all told me to "never sell the 458" - everyone who understands cars recognizes it as one of the all-time greats in automotive history. If you have the money and you appreciate fine Italian engines and the pure skill of driving, buy one. You will not regret it.
