2025 Ford F-450 Super Duty

The latest light-duty pickups are impressively capable for towing and hauling. But there are still situations where only a monster heavy-duty truck will do, and that's where the 2025 Ford F-450 Super Duty comes in. The F-450 is up to the task with a maximum rating of 40,000 pounds with a fifth-wheel setup. We're guessing few owners need this much capability — that's half as much as what a commercial semi truck can haul — but if nothing else, it's good for bragging rights. The F-450 also works out great for less strenuous tasks. It boasts a roomy cabin and plenty of helpful technology features.

Ford hasn't released official information on the 2025 F-450 as of this writing. We'll update our recommendation if anything changes, but based on last year's truck, we recommend the XLT trim. It's a big step up from the base XL model, which looks and feels more like a rental or work truck. The XLT benefits from carpeting and cloth seat upholstery, as well as forward collision mitigation.
