I bought my Fusion brand new w/300 miles. The car was great, never had a problem with it until it hit 65k miles. Then the transmission started to shift really hard. I had a couple of mechanics look at it and none of them could promise the transmission would last another 30k miles. I just hit 125k miles this week and the transmission still shifts hard. I do change the transmission fluid every 30k so I am sure that helps. Other than that brakes, tires, a new battery and oil changes is all it has needed. One major warning I will give is that I have not been able to get a set of tires to last more than 40k miles. Every set cups and my car is in perfect alignment according to my mechanic.

I bought my 07 Fusion new with 35 miles on it in October of 06. At first I didn't think if I would really like the car or not. After a few days I fell in love with it. This is a very roomy and reliable car. I now have over 85K miles on it and it has seen 3 states. I live in AZ so the summer months really put a car through hell. This is because of the extreme heat and weather. I have changed the tires once and still have the original brake pads. The only issue I had was the battery exploding when I tried to start the car to leave for work. My wiring harness and radio needed replacing. Ford paid to have the car towed and repaired for no cost and I was given a Mustang for the time being.

Give the imports a run for their money

I waited to review this vehicle, because I really wanted to try it for a month before giving my final impression. One thing that I've like about what Ford has done with their cars has been the conservative design of the interiors. Nothing flashy, everything is in a place that makes sense, and the quality feels fine. Some people have complained about engine noise on the 4 cylinder, but I don't think it's that obnoxious. It's a fun to drive car for a mid-size. I'm impressed with the fuel economy, it gets about as good of mileage as the Focus I used to own. It makes my 30 mile commute to work painless, I enjoy driving with this car.

Fast accelerating, tight turning capability. Exterior design is beautiful. And fairly inexpensive.

I purchased my new 2007 Ford Fusion SE in October 2007; for a new car it is a lemon. Within my 1-year, I had a major problem and Hixon Ford in Monroe, Louisiana gave me a new battery, put it in my trunk and sent me on my way. Well, Hixon Ford is now under new management, but that did not solve my problem, nor did they compensate me for my out of pocket expenses after finding the root of the problem. Something was draining my battery; after so many battery replacements, our (my husband and me) mechanic friend told us of so many complaints with the Ford Fusions. I submitted a Lemon Law complaint, contacted Ford Motor Company Corporate Office and contacted NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). Surprisingly, Hixon Ford finally called me, but 7-years later just to tell me that they could not replace my car, because too many years has passed. I only received an apology for the money I spent on almost every part except the frame of the care. Ms. Debbie told me that if I were to purchase another car from them, they would take better care of me. The problems I had was replacing the battery, the dash puckled, the seat cover was constantly pulling my hair out, the coil that let to the battery was extremely hot, at the opposite end of the coil that led to the battery burnt out and had to be replaced, my car would hydo-plane on a bumpy dry street, power window switch popped and stop working (all four/2-front/2-back, within 2-days apart), replaced transmission, scubbing in wheel, poor shocks (I felt every bump in the road), etc. I can't remember the rest, but since I replaced so many parts, I decided to keep my car.....I didn't know that it would be at a price of another car.
