The 2026 Genesis G80 is a midsize luxury sedan that flies under the radar. It may not have the same name recognition as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class or BMW 5 Series, but sleeping on this comfortable cruiser would be a mistake. The G80 exhibits the hallmarks of the class, including a cushy ride, an elegantly styled cabin and plenty of space, at a price point that undercuts rivals by thousands of dollars. Following a substantial refresh last year — which brought upgrades like revised exterior styling, a new premium audio system and a massive 27-inch digital instrument display/touchscreen — we don't expect any significant changes for the 2026 Genesis G80.
Edmunds spotlight: Warranty coverage and other perks
As a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group, the Genesis brand offers one of the best warranties in the business. The G80 is covered by a five-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty and a generous 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. In addition, the G80 gets three years/36,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance and five years of roadside assistance. G80 owners also have access to the Genesis Concierge service, which can schedule your car to be picked up for maintenance, arrange for a loaner car, and more.
Competitors to consider
The Genesis G80 competes with other midsize luxury sedans, including the BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Audi A6, Cadillac CT5 and Volvo S90. The G80 has a lower starting price than the 5 Series and E-Class, neither of which comes standard with all-wheel drive. The CT5 undercuts the G80's price by a few thousand, but you get a noticeably less luxurious and refined vehicle for your money. The S90 is showing its age, but its interior is still sharp-looking and spacious for adults.
