Trim level differences

The 2025 GMC Yukon XL is an extended-length version of the full-size Yukon SUV. It is available in Elevation, AT4, AT4 Ultimate, Denali and Denali Ultimate trim levels. The Yukon XL Elevation and AT4 have a standard 5.3-liter V8 engine (335 horsepower, 383 lb-ft of torque), while other versions of the SUV get a 6.2-liter V8 (420 horsepower, 460 lb-ft). The 6.2-liter is an option with AT4 trim. All Yukon XLs offer an upgrade to a Duramax 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder turbodiesel engine (305 horsepower, 405 lb-ft) that offers a notable improvement in fuel economy.

A 10-speed automatic transmission is standard with all three engines, and the Elevation and Denali have rear-wheel drive. A four-wheel-drive system is optional in those two models and standard with the AT4, AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate. Elevation
The most affordable Yukon XL model is well equipped and starts you off with:

  • Rear automatic braking (applies the brakes automatically to avoid an imminent collision with an object behind the vehicle)
  • Blind-spot intervention (automatically steers the car back into its lane if you try to change lanes while a car is in the vehicle's blind spot)
  • Surround-view camera system (gives you a top-down view of the Yukon XL and its surroundings in tight parking situations)
