The good and the bad - after 2 years ownership
I would really like to give it five stars, and this where I was after the first 6 months, but here is the reality. The good: It handles great, it is very quiet, interior quality if okay for the price point. Overall, we love the ride. Range is okay. The bad: Turn radius is very wide, which makes navigating parking lots a bit challenging. Need to deal with frequent recalls. Electric system failure can leave you stranded with max speed 25 mph (even with all the recalls). Need to get it serviced every spring to get AC going (maybe fixed after replacing a faulty hose - we will see this spring). Don't get into a fender bender: parts are scarce, it might take up to 6 months to get your car fixed.

A Sub-Sub Compact SUV, Poor Controls - Software
If you just look at the bed of the vehicle from the back it looks to have a decent amount of space. HOWEVER, the lift gate/roof is so slanted you can't even get a decent sized grocery bag anywhere near the end. If you want to put in 2 suitcases be prepared to lower the seats. The firmware/software looks like it was written by high school students. This isn't apparent until you try to do something. For instance, I tried to use one iPhone phone key and one Android one (mixed marriage). It can't be done. You'd need to try really, really hard to be quite so incompetent. I also own a Tesla. Tesla went way overboard putting every function on the screen. Hyundai did the opposite. Everything has a button. While I LIKE having a lot of options and ease access, this isn't it. There are a lot of settings that ARE saved with the driver profile. However, some important ones are not. For instance true one pedal driving (NOT what Hyundai calls it) needs to be set every time you start the car. This is dangerous because the car won't drive like you expect an EV to. Really, Hyundai? Do you really need to huge paddles on the steering wheel to customize regenerative braking? It is a very strange design decision.. IF I could return this car I would. I have less than 40 miles on it. I'd take a $5,000 loss if only I could get rid of it.

Just oooo!
This car has umph and more umph. I am enjoying my commute more than I thought I ever could. The cabin is extraordinarily spacious and comfortable. In "sports" mode, this car handles as well as my 1991 Miata of days gone by. The features are too numerous to begin to list, but the cooling seats are absolutely magical. My hubby and I sat in the back seat for about an hour just chatting and star gazing. The longer I have it and the more I drive my Ioniq 5 limited, the more I enjoy it.
