Used 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer SUV Trims Comparison

Trim level differences

The 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is a three-row luxury SUV with seating for seven standard, or eight with the Flexible Seating Group package. It is sold in three trim levels: Series I, Series II and Series III. Two engines are available: a 6.4-liter V8 engine (471 horsepower, 455 lb-ft of torque) — standard on Series I and optional on Obsidian models — and a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine (510 hp, 500 lb-ft) that's standard on Series II and Series III trims. Both motors are paired with eight-speed automatic transmissions and standard four-wheel drive. Keep reading for a rundown of the Grand Wagoneer's key features and options.

Series I
Comes well equipped with:

  • 20-inch alloy wheels
  • Adaptive air suspension (adjusts for ride comfort, handling and ride height)
  • Hands-free liftgate
  • Retractable running boards
  • Tow hitch
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Four-zone climate control
  • Leather upholstery
  • Heated and ventilated front seats with massage
  • Driver's seat memory settings
  • Heated, power-adjustable steering wheel
  • Power-adjustable pedals
  • Heated second-row captain's chairs
  • Power-folding 60/40-split third-row seats
  • Customizable ambient cabin lighting

In-cabin technology includes:

  • 12-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • Digital instrument display
  • Integrated navigation system
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration (both with wireless connectivity)
  • Wireless charging pad
  • Wi-Fi hotspot
  • 115-volt household-style power outlet
  • 19-speaker McIntosh audio system

The Series I also comes with a robust set of driver assist features including:

  • Head-up display (displays important information in your sight line on the windshield)
  • Forward collision mitigation (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios)
  • Blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert (warns you if a vehicle is in your blind spot during a lane change or while in reverse)
  • Lane keeping assist (steers the Grand Wagoneer back into its lane if it begins to drift over the lane marker)
  • Adaptive cruise control (maintains a driver-set distance between the Grand Wagoneer and the car in front)
  • Automated parking system (steers into a parking spot with little or no driver intervention)
  • 360-degree surround-view system (uses cameras in all four directions to compose a single image of the car's surroundings)

The optional Convenience Group package enhances the Series I with:

  • Adjustable roof rail crossbars
  • Rear-seat camera monitor
  • Digital rearview mirror (allows you to see out the back even with a fully loaded cargo area)
  • Driver attention warning (issues an alert if sensors determine you are becoming fatigued)
  • Infrared night vision camera with pedestrian and animal detection
  • Front cross-traffic alert (warns you if a vehicle is about to cross your vehicle's forward path, such as when approaching an intersection)
  • Enhanced adaptive cruise control (allows semi-automated hands-free driving)
  • Traffic sign recognition

The Rear Seat Entertainment Group keeps backseat passengers entertained with:

  • Dual 10.1-inch screens
  • Amazon Fire TV
  • USB video port

Buyers planning to tow can opt for the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow package, which includes:

  • Chrome or black tow hooks
  • Upgraded engine cooling
  • Trailer brake control (allows adjustment of a trailer's brakes from the cab)
  • Trailer hitch connection assist

Stand-alone features include:

  • 22-inch wheels
  • Front passenger interactive display (allows front passenger access and control of features such as media and navigation through separate 10.25-inch touchscreen)
  • Flexible Seating package (replaces second-row captain's chairs with a power-adjustable 40/20/40-split bench that slides and reclines)

Moving up to the Series II adds a handful of upgrades to the Series I feature set, including:

  • 22-inch wheels
  • Upgraded leather upholstery
  • Suede headliner
  • Passenger-seat memory settings
  • Digital rearview mirror (allows you to see out the back even with a fully loaded cargo area)
  • Driver attention warning (issues an alert if sensors determine you are becoming fatigued)
  • Traffic sign recognition

The optional Premium Group II adds:

  • Adjustable roof rail crossbars
  • A cargo cover
  • Tinted windows
  • Front console cooling box
  • Ventilated second-row seats
  • 23-speaker McIntosh sound system

The Convenience Group is also available for the Series II, although some features already come standard.

Finally, the Series III goes full-tilt luxury, bundling all features from the Convenience and Premium Group II packages with quilted leather upholstery. The Rear Seat Entertainment Group is among the few options for the Series III.

There's also an Obsidian trim package for the Series II and Series III, primarily featuring a blacked-out roof and wheels and piano black accents inside and out. Buyers can also spec the V8 engine if they add the Obsidian package. The Series II version also includes:

  • Adjustable roof rail crossbars
  • Ventilated second-row seats
  • Front console cooling box
  • Front passenger interactive display
  • 23-speaker McIntosh sound system

Which Grand Wagoneer trim does Edmunds recommend?

The Grand Wagoneer is essentially a more luxurious version of the Wagoneer, so it's pretty well loaded right out of the gate. That means the Series I should be enough car for just about anyone. But if you were thinking of adding the Convenience Group package, we suggest upgrading to the Series II model instead. It adds a handful of the Convenience Group's features, alongside the more efficient (and more powerful) turbocharged six-cylinder engine.
