Used 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid SUV Trims Comparison

Trim level differences

The 2023 Kia Sorento Hybrid is a small SUV with three rows of seating that can carry up to six passengers (the second row has captain's chairs). It's available in two trim levels: EX and SX Prestige. Both are powered by a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a hybrid system and a six-speed automatic transmission. Combined output is 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard for the EX and all-wheel drive is an option. The SX Prestige comes with AWD as standard equipment. Keep reading for our rundown of the Sorento's standard and optional features.

EX
As with most Kias, the EX is well equipped. Standard features include:

  • 17-inch wheels
  • LED headlights
  • Keyless entry with push-button start
  • Synthetic leather upholstery
  • Heated, power-adjustable front seats
  • Dual-zone automatic climate control
  • 10.25-inch touchscreen display
  • Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration
  • Navigation system
  • Six-speaker audio system
  • LED foglights
  • Wireless phone charger
  • Hands-free liftgate with height adjustment

Standard advanced driver aids include:

  • Blind-spot intervention (automatically steers the car back into its lane if you try to change lanes while a car is in the vehicle's blind spot)
  • Rear cross-traffic warning with automatic braking (warns you if a vehicle behind you is about to cross your path while you're in reverse and can brake for you if needed)
  • Lane keeping system (makes minor steering corrections to help keep the vehicle centered in its lane)
  • Forward collision warning with automatic braking (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios)
  • Lane departure mitigation (warns you of a lane departure when a turn signal isn't used and can automatically steer to maintain lane position)
  • Driver attention warning (issues an alert if sensors determine you are becoming fatigued)
  • Highway Driving Assist (enhanced lane keeping assistance and adaptive cruise control functionality)
  • Adaptive cruise control (adjusts speed to maintain a constant distance between the vehicle and the car in front)
  • Front and rear parking sensors

SX Prestige
Adds to the EX's long list of standard equipment with a few more features, such as:

  • 19-inch wheels
  • Digital instrument cluster
  • Power-folding side mirrors
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • LED taillights
  • Leather upholstery
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Additional power adjustments for the front seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Bose premium audio system
  • Blind-spot camera (displays an image of the vehicle's blind spot in the instrument panel when you activate a turn signal)
  • Surround-view camera system (gives you a top-down view of the Sorento Hybrid and its surroundings for tight parking situations)

The main options for the Sorento Hybrid are a panoramic sunroof and a rear seat entertainment system.

Which Sorento Hybrid trim does Edmunds recommend?

Thanks to its impressive list of standard equipment, we'd put our money on the EX. To make the most of the hybrid powertrain, we'd stick with the standard front-wheel drive, but if you live with inclement weather and need the all-wheel drive, you get a panoramic sunroof as part of the extra cost.
