High speed steering alert - buyer beware
There are two issues which surfaced at around 18K miles. First, the electronics for climate control went on the blink but after restarting the car the issue corrected itself. Has not surfaced again to date. But the second and most important safety issue is the electronic steering which at speeds over 50 mph becomes erratic. The car pulls left and right and must be constantly corrected. The power steering becomes more and more difficult to manage as the car heats up. At two hours into a trip we were jerking the car back and forth to maintain the car in the lane. The steering becomes less and less reliable. Dealer said there were no code indicators when the car was taken in to address the problem. The dealer knows about the problem but claims he has to replicate it before he will address it, however, he is unwilling to take the car on a high speed drive for the time it takes for the problem to present itself. There are no problems thus far with low speed city driving. A quick internet search revealed this is a systemic problem which the manufacturer is unwilling to address. Would not recommend this model. Update. After seven attempts to repair the steering issue with minor fixes that didn't work, KIA finally agreed there was a real problem and replaced the entire steering column. The vehicle is now operating normally. Please be persistent if your Sorento develops a steering problem. If necessary contact KIA Corporate and open a case, which is what we did. We also contacted an attorney who specializes in Lemon Laws. Only after we informed our local dealer service department of our efforts did we see real action and results.

VERY PLEASED
Purchased First KIA, 2017 Sorrento 11miles because of the look of the body and safety reports. Took it for a road trip and it handled the rain, first winter snow and slush very well. One thing I was not happy about was the passenger seat indicator did not come on when the passenger took there seat belt off. This is a safety issue in which should come equipped in all vehicles. The seat belts didn't have much resistance when the breaks was given a lot of force to stop. Very happy about the many air bags. In which I am having the dealer take a look at ASAP. I love the Sorrento very smooth ride and great on GAS. Do not care for the satellite to much, The signal is not good. The radio system is great with my Teenager as well as the USB hook ups.

Well Worth the Money, Riverside Kia AMAZING
Well Worth the Money and RIVERSIDE KIA was Amazing and they were great to deal with, so with that said: PROS: Many PROS LIKE PRICE AND WARRANTY, STYLING IS VERY NICE, interior is pretty nice for the price, Headroom is good as I am 6' and it works well with my daughters car-seat :-) It has pretty good storage room but but could use a little more :-) CONS: A 3" SCREEN for Radio and CONTROLS ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! You cannot see the screen most of the time due to the angle and glare from the sun/window it is HORRIBLE and I MEAN HORRIBLE come on KIA you can due much better then this!!! The sound system is OK nothing to brag about! ANOTHER BIG CON IS NO AUTOMATIC HEADLIGHTS and I forget to shut them off all the time thinking they will off automatically like most other older cars and most if not all NEW Cars! ANOTHER VERY POOR CHOICE ON KIA'S PART!!! FUEL ECONOMY is not that great right off the bat as I got the car with 8 miles on it and it now has over 600 but not over 700! I really have to watch what I am doing driving wise to get 19/20 around the city. I got the SUV on 8/31/2016 so most of my driving is around the city as I am retired :-) I REALLY LIKE THE SORENTO DESPITE MY CONS, WHICH MANLY ARE PET PEEVES AND KIA SHOULD HAVE DONE A LITTLE BETTER IN THESE AREA!

Terrible company
We got a 2017 Kia Sorrento in December 2020 for a book price of $16,800 at a Kia dealership. It lasted 20,000 miles. The engine consumes 5 quarts of oil every 2,000 miles and Kia refused to fix it. Even though it was certified pre-owned. There is a recall on the engine but the only way they fix it is if you risk your life on the highway and the "lower rod bearing fails" or something like that. Not worth dieing for. Even certified pre-owned you would think they would honor their product. Lost $9,000 due to depreciation on the trade in. Total scam.

Great for Me, Not for Everyone
My LX is great for me, a retiree in fair to poor health driving 5K miles a year. My configuration is a little underpowered, 24.4 mpg mixed driving, large cargo area, smooth ride, just enough options and conveniences. Any deficiencies are minor in my circumstances. We do plan to travel some in it, even though we have a better vehicle (2019 Honda CR-V EX-L). The Hyundai Santa Fe Sport (non turbo) has better acceleration.
