2017 Lexus ES 300h 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl gas/electric hybrid CVT)
I got this car wanting something nicer than a Toyota but not as expensive as a true luxury car. It fits the bill without breaking the bank too much.
Pros:
Great exterior styling, good comfort and sound system. Sturdily built in Japan. Incredible reliability ratings. Decent fuel economy for a semi-luxury car (38 mpg real world).
Cons:
Definitely not a real luxury car.
Fuel economy … not as good as non-luxury equivalents.
Most non-luxury hybrids get nearly 50 mpg compared to the ES 300h's 38 mpg or so.
No Android Auto or Apple Carplay, just Bluetooth.
Suspension just average, not particularly good or bad.
Overall I'm pretty happy with my 2017 ES 300h. It fits the niche audience that I fall under, but later down the road, I'd trade it for a well-equipped EV.
