Great all around car
I recently purchased a used C250 Sport a few weeks ago and I have to admit that my expectations for the car was relatively low considering it was not an E, S, or ML. This car came with the premium 1 package and the lighting technology package. The premium 1 package comes with the Harmon Kardon 7.1 surround sound, which honestly is the best sound that I have heard come from a car before and I am an avid Bose consumer. The lighting package comes with the adaptive HID headlights and adaptive high beam technology that reacts to oncoming traffic and dims accordingly. Whats more is that I read some of the reviews people gave the car and saw that people were disappointed with performance and the fact that there was lack of leg room in the rear. To begin, this is in no way a BMW 335i or M3. Mercedes has always considered luxury over sport and adds the sport package for those who want a spirited drive, not a drifting at the intersections drive. The power and transmission are geared for a more economical drive to conserve fuel and utilize torque over horsepower, this is noted by the fact that the car always starts in economy mode. In addition, the leg room is decent and I am 5'10". While it is not the most spacious, it is also not an E-class which according to the side-by-side comparison on edmunds, com only adds 2, yes 2 whole inches to the rear leg room. Not enough to spend an added 5-6K. Overall, the car is what you would expect from a compact 4-door with great fuel economy, I average 33-35MPG at 75mph, while using cruise control and 20-25 in city driving, depending on traffic. This car is what you could expect for a 25-30K compact in it's class and if you are expecting a sporty drive with gearing and power specifically for pulling on the driver next to you, then you should consider a BMW 3-series or Infinity G37.

Great starter benz
ive been researching about this car for months and im going to say what i wanted others to say in their reviews. the car isnt huge, but it is roomy im 5'7 and i fit prefect in the back seat, my step-father who is at least 6 foot also fit fine in the back, of course hes not going to want to be there for a long drive or a road trip but this car isnt small for the average person or average family. the power another story, there isnt much turbo lag maybe 2 or 3 seconds then you're off!. forgot to mention the system for the younger buyers that like that kind of thing its a great system. its no hardon kardon system but it will do its job and do it well. overall if you're looking for a starter benz

TOO MANY ISSUES - Stay Away!
Keep in mind I owned the car for only 10 MONTHS due to so many problems. Here we go- Replaced spark plugs two times, the second time I had replaced all ignition coils as well. I used NGK Platinum Iridium plugs, and OEM Beru coils. Two months later, the driver side door handle broke internally (common issue). Wasn't surprised because just like everything else in and outside the car, it was made from cheap plastic. Dealer said it would cost $800 to fix because a new door panel would need to be installed because the little handle couldn't be detached from the door panel itself. So I just ordered a new door handle + other misc. tools to fix the door, costed me $30 but about 3-4 hours of my own labor due to the over-engineering of the door. But saved myself HUNDREDS. Car had an oil leak the first week I got it, had that fixed, then 10 months later, another oil leak happened again. Had to get speaker on the dashboard replaced due to it failing and making it impossible to listen to music without hearing a loud rattling and static sound. Had to replace a coolant hose because it was leaking on the exhaust (not sure how or why the car didn't catch fire) but that was made from cheap plastic. Engine wasn't getting up to normal operating temperature in cold climate, had to replace thermostat. Cost $600 and seemed to help the issue somewhat... car still took a while to warm up compared to a lot of other cars. Power tilting, and telescoping steering wheel kept getting stuck... had to literally bang on the steering wheel to get it un-stuck. When I got it unstuck the 4th time I decided to just turn off the convenience feature for peace of mind. Overall, I replaced about a dozen things (wish I was joking!!), hard for me to remember all the things I had to get fixed because it all happened within 10 months. But these were the more major things that I only remember. With that said, the car a lot of the times felt like it didn't have power when stepping on the accelerator. Even after the spark plug and ignition coil change. Could've been another issue I'm sure. The turbo lag is REAL, so except a delay when putting foot down and actually getting power. Also cabin noise wasn't great! Happy to have ridded myself of the worst car I've ever owned! This experience has made me never want to be a MB customer in the future.

Nightmare warranty issues
Updated after 7 years/60k miles... I've always loved MB, and so have many friends and family. From the first drive off the lot, the car pulled strongly to the right. I've owned and driven many types of cars/trucks. I've never experienced one this bad, and it was a MB and brand new. Unfortunately, the nightmare became reality when I went from one dealership to another and racked up more miles driving to dealerships in the LA area just trying to get it fixed under warranty. Compared to the newer C series (w205), which I've driven plenty of times for various reasons, I always wind up preferring mine (w204) I could see people who are in the market for an entry level luxury car to enjoy the newer C series, but what I like about mine is the sporty suspension and handling from the factory, much more than the 3 series BMWfrom 2012-2013 years (the icon of 'sport luxury). Aside from the nightmare of dealing with all the horrible dealers, due to that alignment/suspension issue, the car itself is great. The nearest two dealers in Orange County, CA (Long Beach and Fletcher Jones/Newport Beach) are OK AT BEST. I used to normally go to Laguna Niguel for peace of mind with issues (maintenance, questions) but on my last trip, they left the oil filter loose and i spilled 4 quarts all over the 405 driving home...no apology, no flatbed as promised to tow, no shame from Laguna Niguel...just when i was ready to buy a gle450. I would warn fiscally conserative people to be wary of buying a used one. 1. it could be a former loaner, which all MB dealers have. 2. they are always a mystery. 3. German cars are very sophisticated and designed to be expensive post-warranty. Worst part, MB dealerships are brutal and crude unless you wear blinders and dont care about money...especially after a vehicle sale. Guess thats why people lease more tham buy.

My dad's c250 sport sedan
My dad bought a c250 sport sedan used with 8900 miles from RBM north. He has put 21 thousand miles on it in least than a year, he loves it. It is like driving a go kart it's a true sport sedan. The brakes are outstanding, the handling is sublime, the acceleration is great. The build quality is top notch the door panels are solid the gaps between the panels are practically invisible, no other car is built as good as a MB. Average 23 mpg, maintenance is inexpensive , hasn't given any problems. The interior is well designed, luxurious and looks interesting with two tone MB tex. Dual exhaust should come standard as well as 18 inch wheels. Back seats are cramped and narrow.
