This car had everything I wanted and a great paint color when purchased. However, I should have done some more research before spending over $30000 for something I've had nothing but problems with since. Shortly after we purchased this, I noticed my car would start to shudder when I would go around corners or have to slow down then regain speed. It has also happened while driving down the highway at 65-70 mph. I mentioned this multiple times to my dealership when I would take it in for my oil change but they have told me every time that it is nothing and they can't seem to find a problem. I spoke with someone that use to work there and was discussing the problem I'm having and he suggested I call Nissan Consumer Affairs to see if they will do anything. He also warned me that Nissan is very bad about notifying customers when there are recalls. I contacted them and reported my issue, opened a case and awaited a response. I received a call last night from this lady that tells me she has done some research and that there is nothing wrong with my car, that is how the CVT transmission works. I asked her why it didn't do that in the beginning and she couldn't answer that. I also asked her about all the reports I have found on the same issue and her response was that it is based on the VIN and nothing showed for my car. The option she gave was to take it to another Nissan dealer to get a second opinion which means adding another 250 miles on my car and making me closer to my warranty expiring. I would not recommend another Nissan to anyone! I now have an overpriced car with a huge issue that is only worth about half of what I paid only a year ago. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!

DO NOT BUY THIS CAR. As a matter of fact, stay clear of, at a minimum, all of 2013-2016 Nissan Altimas. The Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVTs) are garbage. The Nissan franchises, and especially Nissan Corporate in Tennessee, will do everything they can NOT to help you. They put out a horribly bad product and are obviously trying to not lose all their profits by NOT fixing them. Just Google it. Seriously. You will be bombarded with hundreds of consumer stories about cars shutting off at highway speeds; or more likely, as is my case, slow speed lurching and jerking from these cars... According to the documents I’ve read the courts seemed to have settled on the term “jutter”. You’ll also read about Nissan’s repeated unwillingness to do anything about because “[They] can’t reproduce the problem”, and class action lawsuit after class action lawsuit that they’re trying to skate on... I think the latest is Caebe v. Nissan. If you go to them at least three times for the same unresolved issue, start citing the class action suits, give them plenty of attitude, and are under warranty, they MIGHT help you. The only seemingly positive stories I’ve found are people who had their transmissions replaced, or had software updates to the Transmission Control Module per one of Nissan’s Technical Safety Bulletins (TSB) from corporate... The TSB from January 2017 basically directed franchises to only do the software update if they absolutely had to. Either way, consumers have said that neither repair has fixed the problem. One colleague of mine who worked in the industry said your best best is to raise hell and give them attitude because almost everyone works on commission and the top supervisor’s not going to want customers seeing you upset. So they’ll likely do whatever you want as long as it pacifies you long enough to get you off their property... which is what I had to do to get my recent software update. Do yourself a favor a stay away from the CVTs.

I loved my Nissan bought it new at the end of 2014. Stopped at light it cut off. Did not know they had a recall. I took it in for one recall and the tech said it was completed. Not! Found out he never did it. I took it in and they said the transmission recall didn’t work so I had to get a new transmission. Now my daughters Rouge that she paid off last year is doing the same! NEVER BUY A NISSAN AGAIN BUYERS BEWARE

I own a 2015 Pathfinder and 2014 Altima 3.5SL loaded Two transmissions in altima and it's still has issues, jerks between 17-32 mph and 59-70 first transmission 30 days after purchase and multiple visits to dealer! Would stay away! I also own a 2012 and 2000 Altima both have 100k plus never a issue
