Trim level differences
The 2024 Nissan Z is a two-door sport coupe with three available trim levels: Sport, Performance and Z Nismo. Every Z is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine driving the rear wheels. For the Sport and Performance versions, a six-speed manual is standard and a nine-speed automatic is available at no extra cost. Output from the V6 stands at a stout 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Step up to the automatic-only Z Nismo, and the V6 is boosted to 420 hp and 384 lb-ft. Which Z trim does Edmunds recommend?
We think the Performance trim is the one that gives you the best value for the Z. It includes larger brakes, wider and stickier tires, and a limited-slip differential, as well as non-performance niceties like a larger touchscreen and heated front seats. You get these features as well on the new Nismo, and it's certainly the best-driving version of the Z. But it's a big price jump to get the Nismo, making it pretty hard to justify.
