What is the Ram 1500?
The 1500 is Ram's answer to the Ford F-150 and the Chevrolet Silverado. Ram's full-size truck has been one of the more tech-forward and luxurious offerings in the segment since its major redesign in 2019. It was the first to ditch leaf springs and swap them for an air suspension on a pickup truck. It also features a massive, tablet-like display in the dashboard — something Ford only recently adopted and an area where Chevy still lags behind. Add to that some handsome sheetmetal and a lavish and supremely quiet interior for a pickup truck, and you have a recipe for a truly excellent everyday companion that happens to be quite capable to boot.
Even though the Ram 1500's last major redesign was in 2019, we don't see much changing for 2024. Ram's focus as of late has been the all-new Ram 1500 Rev, a fully electric version of the 1500 pickup. Ram finds a way to add small bits and bobs to its pickup line every year, and we expect more of the same this year. Some options might be moved around and a new appearance package might find its way to some trim levels, but by and large, this pickup is going to stay the same. But with so much breadth and depth on its side, that's no bad thing.
