2023 Ram ProMaster Window Van Review

The 2023 Ram ProMaster Window van is a big box on wheels aimed at one thing: being very efficient at moving people and cargo. The ProMaster offers plenty of interior space, and its V6 engine is respectably fuel-efficient. And with an seemingly endless number of ways to upfit the vans like the ProMaster, it's easy to tailor them to whatever need you may have. In the case of the Window van, that means hauling both people and cargo. Oddly, though, Ram only offers the ProMaster Window with seating for up to five from the factory. If you want more than that, you'll have to find an upfitter.

The ProMaster is really just a platform for you to alter and modify depending on your needs. While the Window van's fixed polycarbonate windows don't offer as much space to work with as the cargo van's metal sides, there are still plenty of spots for upfitters to install things like a workbench, a bed, a kitchenette or, in the ProMaster Window's case, seating for more than five. That's right, this massive van only has two rows and five seats from the factory. There's plenty of space for more in the back, though that means going to an upfitter for extra benches if you want to take full advantage of the space for passengers.

The ProMaster's main competitors are the Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. That pair are both big, modern cargo vans with spacious cargo areas and interiors ripe for upfitting. Notably, Ford and Mercedes-Benz both offer their vans with seating for up to 15 passengers straight from the factory. The Mercedes-Benz Metris is another, slightly smaller, option.
