If you frequently carry lots of people and their belongings, it might be time for a three-row SUV. This segment covers a massive range of vehicles, from frugal city-dwelling hybrids to big, luxurious barges built for the long haul. No matter what, the best used three-row SUVs must haul cargo and people in equal measure, and do so without compromising the driving experience. It's a difficult balance to strike, but these are our favorite used three-row SUVs that manage to hit that mark with ease.
Best Used 3-Row SUVs
The Kia Telluride is one of the best three-row SUVs. The Telluride can comfortably seat seven passengers (or eight with the optional second-row bench) as well as carry their gear. The Telluride's seat comfort and ride quality are impressive, making this three-row SUV great for road trips. Folding the third row flat gives you access to an enormous storage space, and the SUV can tow up to 5,000 pounds when properly equipped.
There are a few cons to be aware of, however. The Telluride isn't as good as some of its competitors in terms of small-item storage in the cabin, and this SUV's fuel economy (EPA-estimated 21-23 mpg combined) is also a bit below average.

Toyota Grand Highlander
As its name suggests, the Toyota Grand Highlander is larger than the standard Highlander, offering both more passenger and storage space. The Grand Highlander offers an additional 5.5 inches of legroom in the third row compared to the standard Highlander, it has one of the largest cargo areas in its class and comes with a very, very long list of excellent driver aids As such, the Grand Highlander has become one of the most popular SUVs on the market — which, in addition to its relative newness, explains the high transaction prices for used models. The Kia Telluride may sit at the top of the pyramid for the moment, but the nearly flawless Grand Highlander, hindered only by a meek base engine, isn't far behind.

Kia Sorento
If the Kia Telluride is a touch too big, consider the smaller, less expensive Sorento. The Sorento is packed with standard features, just like the Telluride, and features an easy-to-use infotainment system alongside a sleek design both inside and out. The Sorento features a great mix of high-quality materials, general practicality and solid performance — as long as you get the available turbocharged engine. Cons? The Sorento LX's base 2.5-liter four-cylinder isn't exactly punchy, with just 191 horsepower. Still, it doesn't hinder the Sorento's ability to haul people and cargo with ease.

Mercedes-Benz GLS
The GLS is the largest of Mercedes-Benz's SUVs. It offers three full (and very adult-friendly) rows of luxury, as well as a sublime ride thanks to its standard air suspension. The GLS has acres of leather paired with an exceptional sound system, and it also offers strong V6 and V8 powertrain options, ensuring you'll never have to work hard to get where you're going. The GLS was redesigned in 2023 and features a standard panoramic sunroof. There's not much to dislike about the GLS, but we did find that some interior controls and buttons can get lost in the dizzying array of switches and menus.

Hyundai Santa Fe
The Hyundai Santa Fe got a big update in 2024, putting this SUV a class above its predecessor. This SUV's stellar design is only one of many selling points. The Santa Fe's hatch is an almost perfectly square opening, which Hyundai says maximizes cargo-hauling capacity. In addition to the new look, the Santa Fe's turbocharged engine is strong, and while it does hurt fuel economy some, the extra power is welcome. The formerly optional third row is now standard, and the Santa Fe even leans into the recent overlanding and camping trend with a rugged XRT trim featuring upgraded tires and other off-road kit.
