2025 Tesla Model Y SUV Trims Comparison

Trim level differences

The 2025 Tesla Model Y is a fully electric small crossover SUV. It comes in three trim levels: Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive, Long Range All-Wheel Drive and Performance. The Model Y seats five, and Long Range All-Wheel Drive versions have an optional third-row seat that raises seating capacity to seven. Keep reading for our breakdown of the Model Y's features and options.

Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive
The entry-level Model Y is anything but basic. Its lengthy list of standard features includes:

  • 337 miles of range
  • Single electric motor

Every Model Y also comes with:

  • Forward collision mitigation (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios)
  • Lane keeping assistance (steers the Model Y back into its lane if it begins to drift over the lane marker)
  • Tesla Autopilot (combines adaptive cruise control and lane keeping assistance for hands-on low-level automated driving)
  • Blind-spot warning (alerts you if a vehicle in the next lane over is in your blind spot)

Long Range All-Wheel Drive
Comes with an additional motor to give the Model Y all-wheel-drive capability.

  • 311 miles of range
  • Dual motors and all-wheel drive

The available Full-Self Driving (Supervised) feature adds:

  • Active monitoring and avoidance of pedestrians, cyclists and other vehicles

A tow hitch is available that adds a Class II tow hitch for lightweight trailers up to 3,500 pounds.

Which Model Y trim does Edmunds recommend?

The standard Model Y Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive has plenty of driving range and exciting performance. Unless you need all-weather traction or want to impress your friends with whipcrack acceleration, you'll probably find this version suits your needs just fine.
