Retired GM made the switch
After 30 plus years at GM and always buying GM products. GM does not make a hybrid anymore. Was going to buy a 2024 Trax. Looking at the build sheet, seeing it had a 3 cylinder engine and built in Korea, I canceled the order. If I'm going to buy foreign, might as well buy a car with proven longevity. Not only that, it made in Kentucky. The 2025 Camry restyling is eye catching. Have the white pearl color. Black interior. Have yet to open panoramic sun roof,(probably never use it). Instrumentation panel is very interactive and pretty easy to use while driving. Our Rav4 was typical suv noisy. But this Camry made me understand why the loyalty to Camry. Drives very well. In cruise mode it does all the safety features well. Braking and lane departure. Getting in no problem, getting out tells me I need to lose a pound and wish I was 10 years younger. Great car and wish GM had a hybrid. Do your homework and see what cars GM makes in the US, only high $ profit products. John.

2025 Toyota Camry LE
What a nice smooth ride. I cannot believe that the SE version has a better ride! Have to watch my speed!!!!! Love the adaptive cruise control. When you are cruising and hit traffic the car reacts without any heavy braking which is very nice, it also accelerates at a very good pace to get back up to speed. Blind side monitors are a great feature and should be in all cars!! I was a Prius owner for 15 years and went with the Camry because they stated the MPG were 53 city 51 highway for the LE and it is a bigger car with better comfort for a ride (My Prius was getting 50MPG). Here is my first 4 days of actual tracked miles per gallon: Cruise Control set to 70MPH AC set to auto at 76 degrees Fahrenheit Temperature was between 65 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit Drove 519 miles (480 was all highway) put in 9.64 gallons MPG was 53.8 (MPG gauge in the car told me I was getting 54.4) The first couple of days I drove back roads and got 57.8MPG I will Edit again in January top see how much it drops in New England winter. Does have a very small hum when running on the electric motor at slow speeds but can't here it with the radio on. A different sound than I was used to from my Prius. UPDATE 7/29/24 The hum I am hearing is coming from the hybrid battery, you can hardly hear it in the car as I stated above but outside the car you can hear it. To me this is a good thing as my Prius was so quiet no one could hear me coming running on battery BUT in the Camry they can (Added safety feature:))

The Camry Perfected!
I just purchased my 2025 Toyota Camry SE on May 21st. I had been driving a 2016 Prius for over a year and prior to that a 2010 Prius for 3 years. I have been very impressed with Toyota's hybrid technology and the 2016 was a great car but I wanted an upgrade in Technology and performance. I was considering the new Prius but after looking at them in person they are downsized and not nearly as practical as the 2016. Yes they look sporty but just not as functional and I have read lots of issues concerning the odd 19-in tire size and lack of spare which I have to have as I drive 25k miles a year. When I found out about the new Camry coming out I decided to wait. After test driving one I was very impressed! Soon after I found the trim and color I wanted. I have driven mine so far about 800 miles and I will say this car is as close to perfect as you can get for a hybrid. It has lots more room than the Prius, a spare tire, the suspension is dialed in perfect if you like a firmer tighter ride than the SE is perfect if you want softer get an XLE. The new version of Toyota safety sense 3.0 is like it says in the review near flawless. It's not intrusive and actually is very good at anticipating situations. There are no sudden movements or harsh breaking so far. The car will actually stear itself with the cruise on. The Edmunds review is spot on to what I have experienced. Wireless Android auto works well, and the base audio sounds decent. I will say this is the nicest car I have ever owned and don't think anyone would be disappointed within reason. It is the perfect balance of sporty, practical, and great gas mileage. I was used to getting around 60 MPGs with the Prius so far I'm only getting 45 with the Camry. The Camry is not easy to hypermile as the Prius was very easy to, but I'm enjoying the extra horsepower and sporty driving Dynamics. I'm very happy with my purchase and plan to keep this car for a very long time. 6/14 update: now with 1500 miles getting 47-53 mpg per trip with normal driving! The longer the trip the better it gets. Love the new Camry!

What I was waiting for!
Was disappointed that the upgrade didn't happen last year, but bought a 2024 as a "placeholder" to not lose as much value as my previous GMC. On Memorial Day, bought a Red/Black XSE ( no, I'm not one of THOSE drivers) equipped with the "Q" package. Has Everything but the unneeded AWD. Always have been a GM guy until now! In a little over a month, I have nearly 2400 Texas miles. Enough power to get on hwy even with the aggressive drivers in this military town . Very quiet. 9 speaker JBL has more oomph. Wireless charger works through my phone's armor plating. Nav is current. Driving through the Hill Country, toward Austin, I still get around 43mpg at 75mph speed limit, which is about 3 better than the 2024. Gotten as much as 50 around town. Sun is too strong here to want to use the roof glass, so not really necessary. PSA: Buy road hazard insurance for tires as it can cost you up to $400 to replace one of these. I've already used it. Great amenities, but you might want to strangle the "Grandma" driver detection that tells you to "sit up straight" if it can't see your eyes if your arm may be positioned in front of the steering wheel sensor, for those that don't drive at "10 and 2". I may retire with this car in 5 or 6 years. My best one yet. CW 7/01/24
