2025 Toyota Corolla Sedan Trims Comparison

Trim level differences

The 2025 Toyota Corolla is a small sedan offered in four trim levels: LE, SE, FX Special Edition and XSE. (The Corolla Hybrid and Corolla Hatchback are reviewed separately on Edmunds.) Keep reading for a rundown of the significant features you get with each trim level.

LE
Starts you off with:

  • 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (169 horsepower, 151 lb-ft)
  • Dynamic-shift continuously variable transmission (CVT)
  • 16-inch steel wheels
  • Remote keyless entry
  • Automatic climate control
  • 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration

All Corollas also come with:

  • Adaptive cruise control (maintains a driver-set distance between the Corolla and the car in front)
  • Forward collision mitigation (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios)
  • Lane departure mitigation (warns you of a lane departure when a turn signal isn't used and can automatically steer to maintain lane position)
  • Lane keeping system (makes minor steering corrections to help keep the vehicle centered in its lane)

SE
Based on the LE trim level, the SE is the sporty Corolla sedan thanks to:

  • 18-inch dark gray alloy wheels
  • Sport-tuned suspension
  • Sportier exterior trim accents
  • Heated outside mirrors
  • Sport driving mode
  • Leather-trimmed steering wheel with paddle shifters
  • Sport-bolstered front seats
  • Remote keyless entry with push-button start

FX Special Edition
Based on the SE, it adds unique styling touches with:

  • 18-inch black-painted wheels
  • Black exterior trim
  • Black badges
  • Black-painted roof
  • Trunk-mounted spoiler
  • Lowering springs
  • Retuned power steering
  • Unique cloth upholstery
  • 10.5-inch infotainment touchscreen

XSE
Builds on the SE trim and adds features, such as:

  • Body-color exterior mirrors
  • Sunroof
  • Heated front seats
  • Digital instrument panel
  • 10.5-inch infotainment touchscreen
  • Wireless charging pad
  • Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning (alerts you if a vehicle is in your blind spot during a lane change or while in reverse)

Some features that come standard on the XSE can be ordered as options on the LE and SE. Additionally, a premium JBL sound system is optional on the Nightshade and XSE trims.

Which Corolla trim does Edmunds recommend?

We think the LE trim will remain our choice in the lineup. It comes with a fair bit of standard safety equipment, and should you have some extra room in your budget, you can spring for the LE Premium package to get a power sunroof, wireless charging pad, keyless entry, a blind-spot warning system and other nice-to-have features.
