Since 2011 on my 2009 X-runner
Wow, what a great pickup. The only maintenance so far has been exhaust once and brakes twice. Reliable daily driver. Lots of power with 4.0 l v6. Very comfortable ride. Cab is a bit noisy with sliding back window but the stereo can take care of that. I avg 450 to 600 kms per tank of fuel. I purchased this truck in 2011 with 29000 kms on it. Over the years it has had an exhaust leak fixed and brakes repaired twice. It’s been a while because I used high quality the last time. The ride great. The road noise is a lot with the sliding back glass. The stereo is great. It handles like a car but has lots of power under the hood. Nice size box to haul camping and gardening supplies. I have used this as a daily driver since 2011 and I still love driving it. 450 to 550 kms averaged on a tank of fuel but highway I get closed to 700 kms if not too fast. I replaced the headlights with a more modern look because the 2009 lights clouded. And it’s an awesome looking truck.

not what they once were
too many special tools required to work on it; visibility while driving can be a hazard; low quality materials and workmanship; planned obscolecense at its best: parts seem to be engineered to fail at specific intervals; toyota seems resistant to stand behind their products these days

Not cheap, but not crap
I have my new X-runner for 4 days yet, very good truck. I read a lot on the net before I made the move because a lot of reviewers says the truck is very bumpy. After a road test of a 2006 one, I found the truck very comfortable. Yes it is a little bumpy but not really more than any other trucks on the market. Road handling is incredible, the trucks really eats curves. Lots of torque below 2000 RPM from the engine so it makes it very fun to drive, you can literally declutch the truck in 1st gear normally without slip, without giving gas and the engine won't shake or stall. Subwoofer is a good idea but is very badly calibrated, too much bass in voices when listening to radio.
