Nearly A Perfect Automobile

2022 Acura MDX
I bought the base MDX model in September, 2021 to replace my 2011 Pilot - largely because it was on the lot in metallic red with the tan interior; that combo really caught my eye. I had test driven a number of vehicles before I got to Acura. The dealer had to tell me that the upholstery is the leatherette material vice "real" leather, the quality is so high. As soon as I sat in the … driver's seat I knew the 2022 MDX was what I was looking for. I'm 6'3" and the front seating area is the best I've ever experienced.
After 6,500 miles of every type of driving, it's averaging 20.1 MPG. Gets up to 26 on the highway. This car has operated perfectly with zero mechanical or electrical issues. The only two things that don't work well is the phone charging pad and the USB drive music interface.
But with the Apple Play interface functioning seamlessly I don't even notice any longer. You don't need an internal navigation system in a car any longer - it's redundant. I can stream Amazon Music or any other music app. The touchpad interface does require some time to master, but once you do it's fantastic and cutting edge - right at your right fingertips with the comfy hand rest right above it. I would not want a touchscreen interface and get all the fingerprints and other smears on the crystal clear display.
I love driving this car. The ride is luxurious, and handling the perfect balance of responsiveness and luxury. It is not the fastest car of this class out there, but perfectly acceptable for me. I love the 10-speed transmission.
Summary: Very, very happy I purchased this vehicle. The base model is loaded with technology and performance, so I don't feel like I had wished I bought one of the more expensive models.
