A great looking car that is practical and fun

2025 Audi RS 5
As others tell you here and professional reviews will, too, there are other cars in this class that have better numbers than the Audi RS5, but none that look as good. I get as many great compliments about an RS5 as I do for my other famous, iconic sports car. And the RS5 still has plenty of punch and handling when I want to drive with spirit.
I have owned the 2021 coupe and now the 2025 … Sportback versions. The coupe is one of the best looking 2-door cars you can buy, especially in the Nardo Gray/Black Optics scheme. My favorite looking Audi has always been the A7/S7/RS7 so I am delighted now to have the more compact but similar RS5 Sportback, also Nardo Gray/Black Optics, with its more spacious and convenient layout than the coupe, and its shape and stance similar to the 7s.
The 2.9L six in this car was co-developed with Porsche and used in the Macan Turbo. It has plenty of acceleration and in Sport and Dynamic mode, combined with Quattro 4WD, a torque vectoring sport differential and adapting sport suspension, it provides sufficient thrills and grip when you want them. This car also quiets down enough in Drive and Comfort modes that my wife is happy to use it as her daily driver and as our preferred car for family trips.
One thing that bothers some is the tacked on position of the 10.5 inch center touch display. It could have been done more elegantly but it is an excellent, crisp display very conveniently positioned for reach and to maintain your eyes level with the road, It has excellent tactile feedback and the whole Audi MMI system functions very well and is easy to learn and use. The rest of the interior is typical outstanding Audi quality. I much prefer it to the very noisy, cluttered massive screen based and cheap looking membrane button infested stuff Audi is now introducing in its next gen models.
I am fortunate to own a wonderful cutting edge 911, so perhaps that is why the RS5 has enough performance for me as my "other car", and it is definitely a preferred car for family road trips, but I think I would still feel very happy to have this car on its own.
My 2021 coupe was exceptionally reliable with no significant service issues. I expect the newer car to be similarly dependable.
Neither of my RS5 cars are the competition versions. That option is worth the asking price if you want top performance. I have the Porsche for that.
