2005 Chevrolet Classic
I inherited this car from my Mom this year. It has 90K original miles, and has been wrecked once. Overall I would say it's a fairly reliable car, although I probably wouldn't have purchased it because of my inherent prejudice against the Big Three. The car is noisy, mainly from the drivetrain; road noise is acceptable. The car has enough power but lacks a crisp shift, seeming to wander … between shifts. There is a strange vibration when idling in gear that might be the engine mounts, I just haven't attempted to fix the problem. This seems to be a common problem with the 04-05 Classics ( keep on mind this car isn't a real Malibu, just manufactured under that moniker and was basically reserved for rental companies). If properly maintained I hope to get another 100K out of this car. My last car, a 99 Camry LE 4 cyl. had 300K on it and ran better than this car, so I'm kinda biased.
