The Car that saved my life

2010 Ford Crown Victoria
So on a whim after my 2007 Chevrolet HHR bit the dust after a collision, I was looking for something with a V8 engine and with good looks to boot. Low and behold I found the perfect car at a local dealer lot, a 2010 Ford Crown Victoria Police Cruiser with only 123,000 on the clock in pristine condition for the age. Satisfied with my purchase I took it home and realized that I was living … a childhood dream of mine by owning a Crown Vic. The ride was a bit rough (slightly lifted suspension makes the car ride like a truck) and the steering felt heavy and felt more like a point and drive sort of situation (akin to a boat). The engine was fast...ish, and was decently adequate for around town driving but shined during highway stints, but this thing had a massive stopping issue (brake was soft and stopping 2 tons of steel from moving is difficult) and the transmission really felt sluggish and dated (it eventually broke down at 138000 miles). Well low and behold about 9 months in and as I was driving home, I struck a utility trailer and ultimately destroyed my giant cop car. The amount of space between me and the car in front of me and the quick deployment of the airbag ultimately stopped me from being injured at all and showed how strongly built and overengineered these massive road boats were back in the late 2000's. Ultimately I didn't own the car long, but I would highly recommend this car to anyone who wants a stylish body on frame sedan from a bygone era with a reliable engine and a bit of attitude, I can't recommend a Ford Crown Vic enough.
