2023 Ford Explorer
The ST comes with a twin-turbo V-6 and a ten-speed transmission, which for an old gearhead gets me to church and the grocery store just peacefully and economically. Doesn't sound like a sewing machine like the 4 banger, and looks upscale. A bit firm ride, but that's why townships put their cops in them, including serious 400 HP with low-end torque, all with bucket seats that cradle this … old guy comfort. Creature comforts, good mileage if I just drive, but zoom, serious set-you-back in the seat when you want it. Sport mode is honestly a little choppy, so I'm pretty much staying in Normal.
