Have had quite a few trucks over the years. Most recently spent a decade and 200k+ miles with a '13 Tacoma...4-cylinger, 2WD. I got a deal I couldn't pass up on it. When it was finally time to retire that little guy, I fully expected to end up in a Tundra or a GM truck. After many dealership visits and test drives, imagine my surprise when a '24 XLT leaped to the top of the list. Dollar … for dollar, no one else offered the same level of capability, features and comfort at the time. The Tundras were a real disappointment given the cost of entry.
Towing and hauling industrial process equipment goes along with a lot of windshield therapy calling on customers and getting to jobsites in my line of work. Between the 3.5 twin turbo, the FX4 package, the tow package and a handful of other factory options on an XLT, I've been blown away. I look forward to hopping in the driver's seat many months later. Drives I used to dread have become downright enjoyable with the interior comfort and cruise co trol options.
Towing and hauling is shockingly comfortable. Thousands of pounds in a trailer or hundreds to a couple thousand pound payloads in the bed feel non-existent at times. This truck and drive train scoff at anything I throw at it.
The family and any other passengers I find myself driving all love the room and comfort, front or back passenger seats.
Ford really seems to have their ducks in a row with the '24 line of XLTs at the very least.
