1992 Ford Thunderbird
I bought my 1992 Thunderbird Sport 5.0 H.O. in 2017. I initially purchased it as a possible car for my son. He didn't like it. So, it became my daily driver. When I went to look at it I realized a few systems would need to be fixed like the drivers side auto-seat belt drive system. For some reason it "consumes alternators" I have replaced the alternator twice in five years. I have fixed … the auto seat-belt drive system 1 1/2 times. I had the original radiator replaced as it was starting to clog up from the scale and calecha found in the water of the southwest. I overhauled and rebuilt the power steering pump due to seal leakage from normal wear & tear. Other than that it's been a very reliable and fun car to drive. It has the powerful and smooth 5.0 H.O. V8 which has ample torque for road trips and around town locally. The suspension and steering components are sourced from the Super-Coupe of the same year, so it handles a lot better than a LX V8 T-Bird. An affordable way to get into a grand touring car with the proven and popular 5.0 H.O. engine and a better suspension than the 92 Mustang GT.
