2022 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid
Found the last Ioniq Hybrid leftover on my local dealer in February which was an SEL trim. Ioniq 5's were just arriving but those were out of my budget. I also have a 2020 Sonata Hybrid limited and that is a fantastic car. Using this Ioniq as a basic commuter driving 60 miles per day. Put just over 10K in the last 6 months including a 1500 mile trip to Montana. Winter fuel economy … was not as good as I thought averaging mid 40's but once the weather warmed up, it climbed into low to mid 50 range. Best tank of 58MPG on my Montana road trip is impressive. Steady state highway speeds above 70-75 do drop to mid 40's but still nothing to complain about.
I do use the Highway Drive Assist on my daily commute home. This one works well but the Sonata version is even smarter. Not self driving yet but getting closer. Generally not a fan of dual clutch transmissions but with the Hybrid motor handling the initial momentum during takeoff, it drives closer to a traditional automatic. Not a ton or power but moving the transmission into sport mode helps with freeway merge, accelerating uphill or passing someone.
Both cars have only been to the dealer for their free 3 year oil change service, no other issues to report. I've had 4 Hyundai's and 2 Kia's going back to 2006 and loved em all.
