2010 Land Rover Range Rover
We have owned many Range Rovers over the years, going back to 2005. We have let them come and go, but we have held onto our 2010 Range Rover, even beyond the 2015 Range Rover that originally was going to be its replacement. We let the 2015 go earlier this year for a Mercedes G550. The 2010 continues to be our family pet. Entirely reliable, smooth as butter on highways, handles the … worst snow conditions of the Northeast, and will go another 200,000 miles. The newer models (including our 2015) and the New Range Rover of 2022 are just too precious in our view to make any sense. They are not really that much better than the 2010, which I personally think was the best of the modern versions (2010-12) before the refreshed body.
As an aside, we recently bought a rebuilt 1990 Defender, and that has taken us deeper into the Land Rover world, in a very positive way. We are even making a trip to South Africa soon having been inspired by the heritage.
There really are no vehicles like the Ranger Rover or Classic Defender. I wish Land Rover had followed Mercedes’ lead in refreshing their iconic G Wagon and kept the body style and performance of the original Defender.
Love these vehicles, as you can tell.
