2025 Lucid Air
I attempted to trade in my 2023 Tesla Model Y on a Lucid Air Touring at the Denver Lucid Studio. The demonstration vehicles they had were 2024 models even though the 2025 models (according to the sales rep) have significant improvements and have been out for six months. The first demo vehicle they gave me had a mechanical problem with he front suspension causing a loud noise and … vibration when turning left. They gave me a second vehicle to try and this one had Snow tires on it (not the best representation of their product). But based on what I could tell from the demo vehicles , reviews and sales rep comments I thought the 2025 would be a good product. I placed an order and put down a $500.00 deposit which they said was refundable for 7 days. I took Lucid one and a half weeks to give me a quote for the trade in and lease details. Both Audi and BMW accomplished this task in one hour. Then they told me I have to sign the lease the day before the delivery of a vehicle I had not yet seen. I told them I needed to inspect the vehicle and test drive it before I would commit to a lease. They said that they do not allow a test drive of a vehicle prior to purchase or lease completion. That was very suspicious as the vehicle, according to disclosure document they had me sign, had 100 miles on it. Obviously more the one person had already test driven this vehicle. But still they refused to allow me to inspect or drive the vehicle without first signing the lease. At that point I canceled the order. And yes, they stiffed me on the $500 even though it was their delays that took more than the normal 7 day window. This company is losing $3 Billion a year ($250,000/vehicle) and they are a terrible organization to do business with. I would recommend against buying a car from them. You will likely end up in the same place as the folks that bought Fisker's.
