2023 Nissan Murano
I've reached the point in my life where I wanted more luxury in my driving experience, but didn't want to give up function or power. I researched for a year before deciding on the Nissan Murano Platinum. I found a used 2023 with only 16,000 miles and went for a test drive. I was on the road less than 20 minutes and I was HOOKED! For starters, I have to give 2 big thumbs up to the comfort … and roominess of the front seat. The driver lumbar support makes for a supportive and appealing ride. I just had my first long road trip in it and I made it to my destination (with no small assistance from the clear and concise navigation feature) and jumped from the vehicle as refreshed as when I first began the trip! The memory seat is a great feature, if there's anyone else who may be occasionally borrowing your car (but at this point, she's mine, all mine!!). The handling is firm and responsive, hugging the curves at higher speeds, and with plenty of pick up for harrowing weekend interstate driving. I've seen other reviews ding the Murano for reduced visibility from the back window. That hasn't been an issue for me, thus far. The backing camera feature more than compensates, should it ever become one. The back seat is ample. The cargo space may be a little tight, and I can see where that might concern some, but given the overall picture, it's a small sacrifice, especially if you don't expect to use it for much more than grocery shopping. Towing capacity is another issue i've seen some reviewers tsk-tsk over. Again, not something I foresee ever being high on my list of needs, so a non-factor. If I could change anything about the interior, I'd opt for a bigger media screen, but given the overall quality of the features Bose sound, power/memory/heated/air conditioned seats, navigation, etc... not a deal-breaker, at all. OH! And there was one minor, seemingly insignificant feature I was searching for that the Murano provides - a CD player!! Yes, I know, outdated and unnecessary, especially given the advent of streaming and Bluetooth connectivity. I'm big on Spotify and Pandora, but I've got CDs that I have held on to, waiting for a time such as this! Nice nod to the old school, Nissan! Besides the comfort and luxurious interior, the outer look has smooth lines, a wonderful matte finish (I went with the pale grey), and looks far more expensive than what I found to be a very reasonable price range. I gave up gas mileage when I got the Murano, but I havent found it to be too big of a shock to the pocketbook. The 19 gallon gas tank, once full, will hold out fairly well for daily commutes, providing you're not doing an inordinate amount of driving. In summation, forget the nay-sayers. This car makes driving fun! And if you must drive, shouldn't you enjoy the ride?
