2023 Toyota Corolla Cross
I bought a new 2022 Rav4 and every time I got out of the car, I smelled coolant. Toyota gave me different excuses of why I smelled it, and spending close to $40,000 on a car and smelling like coolant didn’t set right with me. So I sold it and took a few months and decided to buy the 2023 Corolla Cross. I didn’t get to test drive it before purchasing it, as Colorado wasn’t getting very … many of them from Toyota. My first impression…I loved this car. I didn’t need to apply any pressure to the steering wheel, it turned so easily. The seat was very comfortable. The engine shifted smoothly and didn’t seem loud. With my Rav4, it always sounded like I was flooring the gas, when I wasn’t.
A few days after having the car, I did notice a few negatives. My cluster panel is all digital. When the sun comes in just right, I can not see anything on the cluster panel. I can just barely make out the speed I am going. That is kind of frustrating. The other thing I don’t like, is it sounds like I am in a sub woofer box. It is very echoey sounding and certain roads make that sound even worse. I can not tell if it is poor insulation or just the softtex chairs and all weather mats not absorbing sound. It bugs me though.
The first time I filled up, I got 34 mpg, the second time was 32 and currently, it shows 36. That fuel
economy is almost worth the two things I mentioned above. I do have a FWD XLE, which may make my mod a little higher then AWD.
