2024 Volvo V60 Cross Country
My Volvo V60 Cross Country is so quiet, smooth and relaxing to drive I call it my decompression chamber. Road and traffic noise are almost nonexistent. I drive home after a long day at the office and I arrive feeling calm and relaxed. The seats are the best I’ve ever had, and I’ve previously owned Saab, Toyota, Honda, and VW models. The Harmon Kardon stereo produces rich and beautiful … sound. I haven’t heard the Bowers and Wilkins option, but can’t imagine it’s worth $4,000 more.
The only area where I gave the V60 4 stars was in performance. It is not a sports car and doesn’t drive like one. But acceleration and speed are fine on the highway. I took the V60 and the Audi A4 Allroad in back to back test drives and acceleration was the only area where the A4 was better. But, in my opinion, the A4 is looking dated in both its interior and exterior styling. My God, it has an IPAD bolted to the dashboard for the infotainment display! Whereas the V60 interior design is spare and clean. And the V60 exterior is timeless and crisp in its design.
The V60’s safety features are also excellent, particularly the self-driving features. I just set the cruise control and it takes care of the rest. You just need to keep one hand lightly on the wheel while the system steers and controls speed as needed.
Finally, one month into my ownership, reliability has been excellent. I will update this review after a year.
I’m very happy with the V60 Cross Country and highly recommend it!
