The 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 is available in five trim levels: Standard, S, Pro, Pro S and Pro S Plus. Most ID.4 models come with an 82-kWh battery pack and are available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The Standard and S trims come with a 60-kWh battery and are only available with rear-wheel drive. On the RWD version, you get one electric motor and an output of 282 horsepower. Which ID.4 trim does Edmunds recommend?
We recommend the Pro. It's the most affordable way to get the ID.4's higher-capacity battery pack for more range as well as the new 12.9-inch touchscreen. In the past, we recommended getting the ID.4 in its dual-motor configuration because of its quicker acceleration and superior wet-weather traction. However, this year's more powerful single-motor ID.4 should be the more compelling value purchase.
