First month T8 ultra 2025 is a gas!

I have filled one tank. I have driven 1400 miles in six weeks and have charged it at home (120v) and work (Blink) and the hybrid system works great! The car looks and drives great. The Google stuff is ok, but I commonly plug in the iPhone and use CarPlay as it charges. I don’t have the fanciest sound system, but do have the massage and A/C seats; very spoiled now! The automation is generally good, and I like that the screen size is NOT the focus of my driving experience. The heads up display is very good, too. Did I mention that it is a rocket? I try not to get tickets, and generally look to use the driving sensors for speed and spacing, but when you want to go- it goes FAST and quickly.

Infotainment issues 3 months in

I leased a 2025 xc60 ultra plug in hybrid 3 months ago. It is a beautiful car, I was able to snag denim blue with the amber leather interior. It drives great, very smooth, and the plug in hybrid has been fantastic. I’ve bought ONE tank of gas so far in 3 months, 1400 miles. Anyway, the main issue is the infotainment center. The Apple car play (which is NOT wireless, huge bummer to find out after I already bought it) simply does not work. The screen says to connect the USC cable, but it’s connected, phone charging and everything. I’ve reset the factory settings, software is updated, still nothing. Huge disappointment as the Apple car play is my main source of maps and music. The other thing that was very frustrating was that I paid $2,000 to have a tow hitch added (the factory one, very cool as there’s a button and it pops up from under the car) but volvo designed the hitch to be the 1.5” effectively making it worthless for bike and ski racks which is all I needed it for, I am not actually towing anything. I don’t know if this is a Swedish thing or what but I had to buy an adapter and that sticks out almost a foot so my racks are now much further out from the car than would have been normally and they are less stable. All in all it’s a great car and drives great, but these little thing have been a pain. I live in a rural area so the closest dealership is 4 hours so I have not had the car in yet to see if they can fix the car play, but seems unlikely since it’s software. TBD! The insurance is very affordable.

Extremely unreliable Infotainment/Computer system

The car was purchased as brand new. The first 4 days its faulted 3 times, I was unable to start my drive as the center screen completely black. (Home button doesn't reset, turning on itself hectically after 20-30 minutes) No heat, no windscreen de-ice, no aircon, no camera, no radar, no map, no head up display, no sound in the car for example to turning indicators, etc - in -4C degree. :-( I had to switch to my old Ford while Volvo team figure it out...

An Eye Catching Roadrunner

2025 Volvo XC60 T8 Ultra Black Edition 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo gas/electric plug-in hybrid 8A)

My 2025 XC60 Black edition is my second XC vehicle in a year's time. I previously had a 2024 XC60 t8 ultra. I was so impressed with the small revisions for 2025 and the entire car being black, I made the change. Both of the vehicles perform magnificently, outstanding emiles of traveling range, super navigation and sound system, with the bower and Wilkins upgrade, sporty and extremely comfortable to drive. I particularly enjoy the little touch of the shifter being done in Oeroffers Crystal, which illuminates at night. Volvo also includes a home charger with the vehicle, which can be used on a regular 110 outlet, or a 240 outlet with a small change of an adapter, upgrading it to a level 2. All Mercedes are supposed to be the art of the engineering field, after two decades I decided to go with Volvo. Much more of a car, with somewhat of a better price. The swedes should be very proud of their accomplishments with Volvo, the true leader in safety.

Black edition ultra super fun to drive

It always appears that Volvo never gets the credit that they deserve. This is my second plug-in hybrid, one being the ultimate and one being the ultra, both 2024 and 2025 models. Volvo never seems to get their credit. They are certainly the leaders and safety based on the insurance industry. I have driven Volvo cars for 40 years. It seems Kia and Hyundai get the place for safety. Not likely. I failed to see why a big car corporation as yours does not give this car greater reviews and more attention. I do not work for the company but have had plenty of them. It is certainly far superior to the Mercedes-Benz which was very heavy in the price range, and didn't live up to any of the Mercedes-Benz expectations. That is evidence since Mercedes-Benz is slacking off on their electric vehicles. They are so heavy that you go through tires every 6 to 8 months. While Volvo does not change their styles as much as they might, they work with the idea of perfection. Each year they make minor improvements. I certainly do not feel compelled to use your recommendations. The quality and construction of a Kia or Hyundai is nowhere near that of a Volvo.with that note I will continue to drive my Volvos and be happy. Only the test of time will tell which one is better.
