Powerful, comfortable and impressively upscale on the inside, the A6 Allroad has a lot going for it. Unfortunately, the mild off-road capability it offers comes at the expense of on-road performance. Value is a little dubious, too.

The Volvo V90 Cross Country offers very mild off-road ability without compromising everyday on-road manners. It's a little louder and rougher-riding than it would be if it were optimized exclusively for road use, but most people won't notice. And being a slightly lifted wagon is unique, an upside for some buyers.
