What is the Odyssey?
As the go-to minivan for scores of families over the last 30-plus years, the Honda Odyssey has a strong reputation and devoted following among the minivan faithful. It's got loads of interior space, modern comfort features and — believe it or not — feels pretty good to drive. The current version of the Odyssey debuted in 2018, and while it's expected to return mostly unchanged for 2024, some key differences could arrive.
First is the styling. Honda has recently redesigned its sedans and crossovers. They feature slim, oblong headlights and wide, gaping grilles that give Honda a distinct design language. In 2024 the Odyssey could join its stablemates with its own take on this look in order to keep things fresh, even though we'd expect the vehicle itself to remain mostly the same under the skin. Rumors also persist of Honda developing a mild hybrid powertrain that could go into the Odyssey, but it's likely that Honda will wait for a full redesign to implement this kind of powerplant.
In any case, the 2024 Odyssey should continue its run as one of the top minivans you can buy. There are impressive rivals: the plug-in Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid and the Toyota Sienna, which is now fully hybrid. Finally the Kia Carnival has some outstanding features too.
