The CX-90 PHEV employs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a plug-in hybrid system with a single electric motor that pulls power from a 17.8-kWh battery pack. Combined output is 323 hp and 369 lb-ft, and Mazda estimates you can travel up to 26 miles on a full charge. It also has an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. Charging the battery from zero to 100% when using a 240-volt power source takes about two hours and 20 minutes, Mazda says.
From there, Mazda pairs these powertrains with five trim levels: Select, Preferred, Preferred Plus, Premium and Premium Plus. There are some feature differences between some of the engine and trim levels.
