Edmunds Names Alistair Weaver as Vice President of Editorial and Editor-in-Chief

Weaver brings more than two decades of award-winning editorial leadership to the helm of one of the largest and most experienced content teams in the automotive space

SANTA MONICA, CA — November 21, 2017 — Edmunds, the leading car shopping and information platform, has named Alistair Weaver as its new Vice President of editorial. In this role, Weaver will serve as the Edmunds editor-in-chief, leading a team of over 30 content producers supporting the Edmunds site and its owned social media platforms. This team is responsible for written editorial reviews and features, vehicle testing, video production, photography and social media. Reflecting Edmunds' commitment to industry-leading content, he will also be a member of the executive leadership team.

Weaver is an award-winning journalist, producer and on-camera host with 20 years of experience contributing to some of the world's leading automotive and men's lifestyle publications and broadcast outlets. Ten years ago, Weaver founded Gaucho Productions, which creates television documentaries, editorial, branded content and events for leading consumer brands. Weaver has a degree in history from Oxford University and has spent more than four years racing in the Caterham series in Europe.

The company's vehicle testing team is led by expert engineers who rigorously evaluate more than 250 cars, trucks and SUVs annually both on the track and in real-world driving conditions. At any given time, Edmunds has an average of approximately 30 vehicles in its long- and short-term test fleet. The company also has a deep bench of car shopping and automotive experts who provide timely advice to help consumers find their perfect vehicle and negotiate a great deal.
