LOS ANGELES, February 28, 2000 - Edmunds.com (http://www.edmunds.com), the Web's leading consumer resource for unbiased automotive information, today announced the appointment of Jeremy P. Anwyl to chief operating officer and Charles E. Farrell to chief financial officer. Both Anwyl and Farrell will report to Peter Steinlauf, Edmunds.com's president and chief executive officer. Mr. Anwyl will be responsible for overseeing the company's business operations and development, and Mr. Farrell will oversee Edmunds.com's day-to-day financial operations.

The site facilitates the car-buying process online through its roster of strategic partners who provide a full complement of automotive products and services, including vehicle purchasing, financing and leasing, insurance, parts/accessories and used vehicle history reports. COO & CFO Named To Management Team

Mr. Anwyl joins Edmunds.com from Marketec Systems Inc., an international firm he founded in 1990 that provides consulting services in automotive brand, retail, channel and change management. While at Marketec, Anwyl worked directly with automobile manufacturers, distributors and major retailer clients to transform the automotive environment by adding value through brand management and lowering the cost of vehicle distribution and retailing.

Anwyl published the "Automotive Impact Marketing," a compilation of research that covers dealership market analysis, brand building, process design, media buying and marketing planning. Automotive Impact Marketing has been used by Northwood University as a retail marketing textbook. In addition to his research and writing accomplishments, Anwyl is a frequent speaker on the subjects of brand management and retail channel change and is recognized by the media as an authority on the automotive marketplace.

Mr. Farrell comes to Edmunds.com from Gulistan Carpet, the nation's fourth largest residential carpet manufacturer, where he served as chief financial officer. Prior to Gulistan, Farrell was the vice president at JPS Textile Group, Inc., arranging for the sale of the company's carpet manufacturing subsidiary that was later renamed Gulistan Carpet. As CFO, he was responsible for the company's banking, financial reporting, treasury, tax, risk management credit and MIS activities.

Farrell has more than 20 years of experience in corporate finance with Wall Street know-how. He spent 15 years assisting companies raise capital in both the public and private sectors. His career began in investment banking with national powerhouses Rotan Mosle Inc. and EF Hutton. While with EF Hutton, he gained extensive experience in managing IPOs, secondary offerings, debt financing and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Farrell continued his investment banking career with Dean Witter as a managing director in the Corporate Finance Department and later with GE Capital in their leveraged buy-out (LBO) group. He received an M.B.A. from Harvard University, and holds a B.A. in Management Science and Psychology from Duke University.
